Fellowship of Isis edit

I've reverted you which you probably know. Please don't copy material from other websites, even if you change a few words. The article needs sources independent of the Fellowship, sources that meet WP:VERIFY and WP:RS. If you can edit the articles with sources that meet those criteria and in a non-promotional way, please do. Doug Weller talk 11:44, 21 March 2016 (UTC)Reply

Help me! edit

Please help me with... All sources relevant to my edit are already listed, Doug Waller. I am new so I am not sure about some of the proper protocol and have done my own scholastic degrees and term papers thesis etc so know about proper sources and references for bibliography. My intention was to clarify and correct what is already written on the Fellowship of Isis page in a rather haphazard way in places without a direct and clear reference, so I do not understand why I am being defined as promotional. There are clearly some incorrect sentences and terms there. For example, the FOI is NOT a religion, it is not an organization!!! It is a Fellowship only, legally. That is very important to state correctly and was a necessary and important edit/correction on my part. It really should not go unchanged! So, while I do get your reason about adding directly from a web page from Central Website and can remove that statement of Star of Tara but do not understand about promotion of anything, I am simply stating facts. For example, the Statement of a Tri Union advisory board is totally factual and must be word for word. I was trying to show/quote it word for word for accuracy with reference to the published page souce online?? http://www.isiannews.blogspot.com/2015/01/announcement-statement-of-star-of-tara.html So it looks like this is an excercise in futility. I am a Hierophant of the FOI and this existing page as it is, quite frankly to me, is not very professionally written at all. Thanks for providing answers for the failure in communications due to format and published sources??? I AM a source but this seems impossible from my point of view so I have already communicated about this to my members of FOI on my own site and provided my edited version there. Thanks anyway but I really do not have much time for this after the time and work I have already put in trying to help. Bright blessings. Favefgm (talk) 20:57, 21 March 2016 (UTC)Reply

I agree that the current page is not professionally written and could do with improvement. Unfortunately, from Wikipedia's point of view your changes were not the improvement that would have been necessary. All Wikipedia content should be based on reliable third-party sources. The article on the Fellowship of Isis already has far too much content not based on such sources. A blog post written by the FOI Co-Founder clearly is not an independent source on the FOI. Besides, copy-pasting that blog post onto Wikipedia violates the author's copyright and is not acceptable. If there are no third-party sources for the content you wish to add, it likely isn't all that important in the grand scheme of things anyway, and it should probably not be added to the Wikipedia article.
