Orphaned non-free media (File:Warilla_Gorillas.jpg) edit

Thanks for uploading File:Warilla_Gorillas.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. I noticed you changed firstly Newcastle Jets' template and now Wellington Phoenix's. Can you please just make sure you do it consistently for all templates of the team. (Phoenix's squad and coaches are still in the previous colour scheme).

FFSA Super League edit

Hey Eccy89! Cheers dude! Thanks a bunch!

To be perfectly honest, I don't know if I will make those tables. With the onset of the NPL, I think a lot of the Australian Football editors have taken an approach of making the newer pages the top priority for their own personal projects (Datasmack with NNSW, Matilda Maniac with WA, etc). Those tables are always a drag for me personally. At the moment, I'm not finding a great deal of spare time for Wikipedia, and the little time I have spent in the last few months has been on creating Greenlandic football season pages (I still gotta get onto 2015's). I guess it's just easier to justify only backdating articles with information like that to 2013... After checking the SoccerAust website, I'm actually a little surprised that 2008's season doesn't contain a home and away table. I guess they're as lazy as I am these days. :P

On those NPL-before-NPL style articles I showed you a month or two ago, I never had any intention to affix those tables to it, just the overall ladder.

Sorry if that's not the response you were after, but I never really found those tables too rewarding to make!

Take it easy! Yell out if you need anything else! - J man708 (talk) 13:07, 17 August 2015 (UTC)Reply

Check it out, I've backdated them to 2000 so far. 10 points if you can pronounce any of the team names in the first try! I can justify the data dump here as either of the Final Round Pools only consist of 4 teams (some pages it's 5 and that itself is challenging!), but involving 10-16 teams is just too much. I don't know where people like SuperJew found the energy to do the A-League ones. You're right, I do love me some data, but at the moment, I love being lazy more. :D
I definitely do see how those tables positively affect a page. I probably would do it, if the NPL was a single league, but being 8 of them, I'd feel obliged to do them all and suddenly octuple the work load. Especially with Wikipedia lowering itself on my priority list of recent times, as my interests change. I'm sure I'll come back around to doing hundreds of hours worth of edits, but at the moment, I've just found myself interested in other things. :P - J man708 (talk) 13:33, 17 August 2015 (UTC)Reply
With the 2015 NPL and the sub-season pages, I think the idea is to keep them as they are and then pack whatever info into the relevant state page list. Once again, I don't think there is a consensus, but it fits in with the rough guidelines set out in WikiProject Football's season template page. When I first went ballistic and created those season pages, I had the intention that they would end out kinda like these, with subpage links above the prose, linking to a main article with more info. With time, I think they grew to be the norm and we've just gone from there. - J man708 (talk) 13:41, 17 August 2015 (UTC)Reply
You're right on both counts, it probably would be better off and the A-League season page probably does "need" that. Hahaha. Oh well. Take care, bud! :P - J man708 (talk) 14:04, 17 August 2015 (UTC)Reply

OMG! what!? why, is there chatter? Some pedigree I guess from the wiki, though havent won since 2004? I don't really know anything about the North Korean league though. Would seem a strange fit. They don't really have any Champions League spots, hey? They also aren't the correct colour... although history proves that won't stop them.

Flags in European current templates edit

Hello there, I have been asked by another member of WPRL to widen the conversation on "Flags in European current templates", in the hope to gain a wider consensus. I imagine that this message may well never be read, dismissed, see me lose support, potentially gain some or take the discussion forwards. Please do take the time to read the discussion at Wikipedia_talk:WikiProject_Rugby_league#Flags_in_squad_templates if you can, but the crux of my position is that the flags are prevalent elsewhere, are consistent with usage by the MOS, and their implementation for their rugby league national squad/team or representative nationality, is in line with their intended purpose. The crux of the remove side would be an IP editor may interpret a flag as indication of birth, give too much credence to the nation, and the decision was made previously. To remove them from all rugby league templates when there is a limited conversation would seem more than a little unfair I would say, hence the attempt to reach out. I'm quite happy to voted down, but would appreciate a few more voices to the discussion, else it would seem quite wrong to move from the majority into the minority.Fleets (talk) 19:59, 13 July 2017 (UTC)Reply
