A tag has been placed on Christopher Imumolen, requesting that it be deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under two or more of the criteria for speedy deletion, by which pages can be deleted at any time, without discussion. If the page meets any of these strictly-defined criteria, then it may soon be deleted by an administrator. The reasons it has been tagged are:

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Hello, Drsmartofficial,
I saw your comment on Talk:Christopher Imumolen. You might consider asking the administrator who deleted the article whether they could restore it to User space, like your Sandbox, or to Draft space. These are namespaces which aren't scrutinized as thoroughly as the main space of the project. Once in User or Draft space, you can work on improving the article to remove promotional content and strengthen the sources.
If you have questions about editing on Wikipedia or its deletion processes, please bring them to the Teahouse. Liz Read! Talk! 23:40, 25 April 2022 (UTC)Reply

AfC notification: Draft:Christopher Imumolen has a new comment edit

I've left a comment on your Articles for Creation submission, which can be viewed at Draft:Christopher Imumolen. Thanks! Johannes (Talk) (Contribs) (Articles) 20:10, 30 April 2022 (UTC)Reply
Hello @Johannes Maximilian,
Thanks for going through the article. :)
I have effected the change you noted by removing the Professor and also using his last name throughout the draft copy.
As regarding the TimesWatch referencing...the online news outlet appears to be independent of the subject (besides, from my research, I can safely assume that the subject has no media background), but if you uncomfortable with it, I can ensure it is removed and I will source for another link.
Looking forward to your feedback.
Many thanks. Drsmartofficial (talk) 20:52, 30 April 2022 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion nomination of AfriSAFE edit

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on AfriSAFE, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, group, product, service, person, or point of view and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations for more information.

If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. If you have a conflict of interest with regard to this article, you must declare it. If you work directly or indirectly for an organisation, or otherwise are acting on its behalf, you are very strongly discouraged from attempting to write an article at all. If you are paid directly or indirectly by the organisation you are writing about, you are required by the Wikimedia Terms of Use to disclose your employer, client and affiliation. You can post such a mandatory disclosure to your user page at User:Drsmartofficial. The template {{Paid}} can be used for this purpose – e.g. in the form: {{paid|user=Drsmartofficial|employer=InsertName|client=InsertName}}. If you are being compensated, please provide the required disclosure. Note that editing with a COI is discouraged, but permitted as long as it is declared. Concealing a COI can lead to a block. Please do not edit further until you respond to this message. Also read the following regarding writing an article

  • you must provide independent verifiable sources to enable us to verify the facts and show that it meets the notability guidelines. Sources that are not acceptable include those linked to the organisation, press releases, YouTube, IMDB, social media and other sites that can be self-edited, blogs, websites of unknown or non-reliable provenance, and sites that are just reporting what the organisation claims or interviewing its management. Note that references should be in-line so we can tell what fact each is supporting, and should not be bare urls; Much of your text, including recipients of the awards is unsourced
  • The notability guidelines for organisations and companies have been updated. The primary criteria has five components that must be evaluated separately and independently to determine if it is met:
  1. significant coverage in
  2. independent,
  3. multiple,
  4. reliable,
  5. secondary sources.
Note that an individual source must meet all four criteria to be counted towards notability.
  • You write a lot about what the award body has said, and list recipients, but there is nothing about funding, offices, staffing or what the awards consist of other than the accolade (if anything). Who decides the awards
  • you must write in a non-promotional tone. Articles must be neutral and encyclopaedic, with verifiable facts, not opinions or reviews. With just promotional statements by the organisation, and no real facts beyond the lists of awardees, it's bound to look spammy
  • there shouldn't be any url links in the article, only in the "References" or "External links" sections.
  • you must not copy text from elsewhere. Copyrighted text is not allowed in Wikipedia, as outlined in this policy. That applies even to pages created by you or your organisation, unless they state clearly and explicitly that the text is public domain. We require that text posted here can be used, modified and distributed for any purpose, including commercial; text is considered to be copyright unless explicitly stated otherwise. There are ways to donate copyrighted text to Wikipedia, as described here; please note that simply asserting on the talk page that you are the owner of the copyright, or you have permission to use the text, isn't sufficient.

Not a reason for deletion, but headings should follow normal sentence capitalisation and not include links, references or loaded words like "notable"

Before attempting to write an article again, please make sure that the topic meets the notability criteria linked above, and check that you can find independent third party sources. You must also reply to the COI request above. Once you have done that, I'll restore as a draft. Jimfbleak - talk to me? 09:41, 14 May 2022 (UTC)Reply

@Jimfbleak
Trust you are good.
Apologies for late response.
I have been inactive for a while before and after wikimania due to personal stuffs. I was only available for volunteering briefly.
Back to AfriSAFE: I have worked with an HSE media organization and that's how I know about AfriSAFE.
In a new industry and looking at how I can contribute to Wikipedia, I thought to write about it. Especially for the fact that it is celebrate safety professionals across Africa.
Kindly advise. Thanks. Drsmartofficial (talk) 19:34, 25 January 2023 (UTC)Reply

More edit

I've provided some guidance above, but a bit more

  • It's all "this is what we do" You say it's organised by HSE Nations, and that's it. No indication of headquarters, governance, staff numbers, funding or expenditure
  • You shouldn't have refs in section headings, but more to the point, many of your refs are not independent sources eg https://platformsafrica.com/2021/05/27/afrisafe-targets-100m-africans-in-i-am-safety-campaign-2021-awards/ this] or don't verify what you claim, eg your source for Bev Messinger, also stated at the event that safety professionals... doesn't mention her. Too many of your sources are basically the organisation talking about itself.
  • It is not for you to decide what is notable, use History, not Notable Moments. And headings should be in sentence case.
  • You decided to post this as an article, and it will be assessed as such. If you don't want that to happen, write as a draft
  • I've seen worse, but it needs real facts as in the first bullet point above and better independent third-party refs. If you try again, write it as a draft Jimfbleak - talk to me? 11:39, 26 January 2023 (UTC)Reply
