Hi,

I am a new user and have been tasked with updating my company's logo. Can someone please inform me about the steps to do so? Thank you! Dlabinger (talk) 16:32, 4 June 2010 (UTC)Reply

Your recent edits edit

Hello. In case you didn't know, when you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion, you should sign your posts by typing four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment. You may also click on the signature button   located above the edit window. This will automatically insert a signature with your username or IP address and the time you posted the comment. This information is useful because other editors will be able to tell who said what, and when. Thank you. --SineBot (talk) 18:44, 4 June 2010 (UTC)Reply

Go to www.ift.org and contact their webmaster James Giese. He should be able to assist. A new logo will be needed. The old logo can be used as a previous image for its past. Thanks for your help. Chris (talk) 22:11, 4 June 2010 (UTC)Reply

Hi Chris - Thanks for your help. I am doing some contract work for IFT, so I can make the change myself. I have the new IFT logo, I just don't know how to upload and link it to the IFT article. Can you walk me through the steps. I even uploaded the new logo to Wikipedia English (I think); I just cannot figure out how to link it so it appears on the IFT page.

Thanks!ldl2010 15:16, 8 June 2010 (UTC)

Orphaned non-free media (File:IFT_rgb_tag_small.JPG) edit

Thanks for uploading File:IFT_rgb_tag_small.JPG. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Melesse (talk) 03:09, 18 June 2010 (UTC)Reply

File copyright problem with File:IFT logo as of 5.24.2010.PNG edit

Thank you for uploading File:IFT logo as of 5.24.2010.PNG. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can determine the license and the source of the file. If you know this information, then you can add a copyright tag to the image description page.

Because you used a fair use rationale with your upload, the recommended copyright tag is {{non-free logo}}. Please add this to the image and remove the speedy delete template ({{di-no license}}).

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their license and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks again for your cooperation. Image Screening Bot (talk) 18:08, 19 June 2010 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion nomination of Template:Logo fur Institute of Food Technologists (IFT) edit

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

Thank you for experimenting with Wikipedia. Your test worked, and the page that you created has been or soon will be deleted. Please use the sandbox for any other tests you want to do. Take a look at the welcome page if you would like to learn more about contributing to our encyclopedia.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hang on}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion, or "db", tag; if no such tag exists, then the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate and adding a hang-on tag is unnecessary), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, you can contact one of these administrators to request that the administrator userfy the page or email a copy to you. — This, that, and the other (talk) 11:07, 12 February 2011 (UTC)Reply
