Jump-Starting the Ohio Highways WikiProject
Hi! I noticed you've started up some new Ohio State Route pages in the last few days, and after having been doing some minor additions here and there, I'd like to start working toward ramping up the Ohio Highways WikiProject on a much larger scale. There is a lot of work to do on the project, but we definitely have the people out there to make it happen. I wanted to talk to you about some of the possibilities for this; please let me know your thoughts when you get an opportunity. Thanks! DanTheMan474 (talk) 15:48, 27 June 2008 (UTC)
- We wanted to begin looking at upgrading how many of the Ohio State Route pages are done, most likely even from the point of start-up. I think Ohio State Route 716 may best serve as a guide for how we want to start building the Ohio pages. As I mentioned, though, with so many routes represented by stubs, if not nothing at all, this might be a good time to evaluate how to proceed, and start building up the project. I'm going to talk with some of the others who have built up Ohio State Route pages in recent months, and ultimately I'd like to do a live chat (via AIM or MSN or something like that) with some of you, to that point. Let me know your thoughts or suggestions, and when I am back from my vacation next week I can do more follow-up then. Thanks! DanTheMan474 (talk) 13:18, 15 July 2008 (UTC)
Oregon communities stubs
Nice work starting all those stubs. One of these days I'll help flesh them out a bit! Katr67 (talk) 23:54, 22 July 2008 (UTC)

An invitation to join WikiProject Ohio
Hi, you are listed under Category:Wikipedians in Ohio or one of its subcategories. WikiProject Ohio has been slowing down and we're looking for active Ohioans to turn that around! But first, let us introduce ourselves; we're a group of editors working to improve Wikipedia's coverage of topics related to Ohio and we're sure there's somewhere you'll fit in just fine. The project's departments include article quality assessment: We have over 5,000 articles to assess for class alone, newsletter writing: This has been delayed by a few months, and new page patrolling: Which has also been slowing down. We also have a newly formed taskforce on our over 1,000 townships at WP:OHTWP.
We have 132 members, many of which are not active within the project. If you are listed there and still received this message please accept the auotmated porcess's apologies. If you are interested in joining us please list you name here. If you're not interested please note this is a one time invite and you will never hear from us again.
If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to leave a message at our talkpage or with any member of the project, we'll be happy to answer any of your questions. We look forward to seeing you around!

2009 Ohio Roads Meet
DanTheMan474 here. Hope all is going well for you. After taking a little break from the Ohio Highways WikiProject, I hope to jump back into helping to improve the project here in the coming weeks.
In the meantime, although it has been a bit since you have been editing in the Ohio Highways Wikiproject, I still wanted to give you a heads up about an upcoming event you might be interested in. Every year, at some location in the Buckeye State, a group of us that enjoy hitting the road every chance we get gather, do a meet-and-greet over lunch at a local eatery, and then take a tour of highways & projects of note in the meet area. This year, we're doing the gathering in the Youngstown vicinity. It takes place on Saturday, 5/09, starting at 12:00 PM. By the time the tour (including OH 711, I-80, etc.) is completed, we would be done by 4:30 PM or so. I can attest that these are always fun experiences, and you come away learning a lot more than you thought you would about a given area...in this case, around Youngstown.
If you would be interested in finding out more about the 2009 Ohio Roads Meet in Youngstown, please message me, and I will give you the specifics. Thanks. Have a great weekend! DanTheMan474 (talk) 06:47, 3 April 2009 (UTC)
Robert Giguère
Hi, If you really have an interest in this page (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Robert_Gigu%C3%A8re) and similar pages, I strongly suggest you get acquainted (and eventually intervene) with this link: http://fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikip%C3%A9dia:Demande_de_restauration_de_page#Robert_Gigu.C3.A8re.C2.A0.28d.C2.A0.C2.B7.C2.A0h.C2.A0.C2.B7.C2.A0j_.C2.A0.C2.B7.C2.A0.E2.86.B5.29
In short, Utilisateur:LPLT in the French Wikipedia eliminated the french version of the page 3 hours after I posted the first draft of it.
What do you think if I cite page http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Notability ?
it is important to not just consider whether notability is established by the article, but whether it readily could be. Remember that all Wikipedia articles are not a final draft, and an article can be notable if such sources exist even if they have not been added at present. Merely asserting that such sources exist is seldom persuasive, especially as time passes and actual proof does not surface. If it is likely that significant coverage in independent sources can be found for a topic, deletion due to lack of notability is inappropriate unless active effort has been made to find these sources. For articles of unclear notability, deletion should be a last resort.
This guy apparently has not read that, nor the french version. He is on a rampage to eliminate all biographical pages he judges are only of a genealogical nature and his list includes the English page on Robert Giguère, and possibly more pages YOU care about.
