- @Chowdhary747: I removed the section because a large part of it was a verbatim copy of another web site, which means it was very likely a copyright violation. Copyright violations should be removed from Wikipedia "on sight." I have edited the text you restored to remove the copyright violation. Recent software changes
- The latest version of MediaWiki (1.23wmf16) was added to test wikis and MediaWiki.org on February 27. It will be added to non-Wikipedia wikis on March 4, and all Wikipedia wikis on March 6 (calendar).
- When users enable web fonts by default, Universal Language Selector will now log if they don't have fonts to display pages correctly. This information will be used by developers to improve font support in the future. Read more about missing fonts. [1]

VisualEditor news

- Template parameters now have a bigger, auto-sizing input box for easier editing. [10]

SPI
I've listed the user at SPI, but given that this was identical to an earlier version by a confirmed sock of Sibtain 007, I didn't really think it was unreasonable to say that the user is a sock. If you look at the previous version by User:Jessionewiki, you'll see that the wording, sources, and everything else is identical. - I was unaware that you don't have the ability to check previous versions of articles. The problem here is that declining something because you don't believe it's a sockpuppet is kind of well... that's the sort of thing that would be better declined by someone who could check the previous version of the article and see where the sock suspicion comes from. - It's not unheard of for someone to copy something out of someone else's sandbox, or to copy something from another page into their own sandbox. Such an act is strong evidence that the two editors are either real-life or on-wiki acquaintances and is not-quite-as-strong evidence but of meat-/sock-puppetry. The link in Amazon Mist to a now-deleted page strengthens the case but it's not quite conclusive. If this were all the evidence that was available and a checkuser was inconclusive, I would sit back and provide the editor a long piece of WP:ROPE if they asked for it. davidwr/(talk)/(contribs) 07:16, 4 March 2014 (UTC)
Deleted content
The person who created the content at User:Robert Henry Nixon/Rhnixon went and took the information to create it at Robert Nixon (filmmaker). Audionutcase
Hi Davidwr...you recently messaged me to say that my article, "Valve Microphones", was not sufficient to be an article on it's own, but that you recommended that I put it in under "Condenser microphones"....which itself is under "Microphone" . Well, I did try to do that...but it hasn't gone in! Could you kindly look into it for me...I'm a newbie and don't really know how to do things yet! - @Audionutcase: another editor accepted your submission. It is at Valve microphone. Because your edit to Microphone wasn't properly formatted, I reverted it. I added the first sentence back in, in a new section called "valve microphone" as a sub-section of "condenser microphone." I tagged that section for expansion. - @Audionutcase: Actually, this edit which removed the very short sub-section I added in favor of a single sentence is much more readable than having a sub-section about this type of microphone. Hi David. The creator sought help at the AfC Help Desk. He was still thinking that he needed to prove that the subject had done the various covers, portraits etc. Typical mistake, thinking all you need to do is verify what he did. Anyhow, I took pity on him and found lots of coverage of Grecco in books and print magazines and newpapers (I have a subscription to HighBeam Research) and added it as references to the article, replacing the poor quality ones. I also found independent verification for the Prix de la Photographie Paris Awards + another award from the International Photographic Council (an NGO of the United Nations) and copyedited out the promotional style in the draft text. I'm quite sure it would easily pass an AfD. If you don't object, I'll move it to article space later today. Best, Voceditenore (talk) 10:30, 27 March 2014 (UTC)
- That is much better and it would almost certainly get at least "no consensus to delete" at AFD if more than 2-3 people participated in the discussion. It is vulnerable to PROD or falling in a low-discussion AFD if it isn't watchlisted, so consider keeping it on your watchlist indefinitely. If possible, replace the paywalled references with quality non-paywalled ones. If that is not possible, consider either using the quote= parameter of the citation templates to include a snippet from the paywalled reference or put the snippet on the article's talk page. davidwr/(talk)/(contribs) 15:36, 27 March 2014 (UTC)
- Hi David. I don't think it's vulnerable to either a PROD or even an AfD nomination, not with the quality of the references it now has. In the course of finding other articles where he's linked or could be linked, I discovered that he has also received the Hasselblad Masters Award. I've added that plus a reference. - @Baumgartenadam: As it says in the pink box at the top of the page, Wikipedia talk:Articles for creation/Penile Rehabilitation was rejected because it was blank. There was nothing there accept the submission template. Type it in again and re-submit and it will be evaluated on its merits. Note that there is still a several-week backlog in the submission queue. This got reviewed early because I was scanning recent submissions for those that were "quick-fails" so the submitters (including you) wouldn't have to go through the several-week wait twice.
- By the way, I noticed you appear to have a close connection (what Wikipedia calls a "conflict of interest") in a contribution you made last fall, Zonal NePhRO scoring system as your user-name is the same as one of the authors of one or more of the references used in that article. If you have a similar conflict of interest in this topic, please read Wikipedia:Conflict of interest. As a rule, editors with conflicts of interest are welcome, even encouraged, to draft articles about such topics and submit them through the AFC process, but once the article has been accepted, they are strongly discouraged from making direct edits to the articles if those edits change the article in a "substantial" way. Instead, once the article has been accepted, editors with conflicts of interests should recommend such changes on the article's talk page. This means if you have a conflict of interest in the topic of of Penile Rehabilitation (for example, if you have written about it professionally in any significant way, or if you have any financial or other "stake" in whether its becomes more or less popular) and your submission is accepted and someone else modifies it, you generally should not undo their changes unless your edit would be allowed under the "conflict of interest" guideline I linked to a few sentences back. AfD Willie Jerome Manning
I am complaining about the behavior of user Smallnslow in this AfD vote. I came back to the vote page to see that this user posted a comment under my vote. Then I see that the user also placed comments beneath other editors' votes. This is not proper. He is essentially asserting ownership of the page (the only one he has ever edited). He gets to cast one vote and it is not his place to rebut the votes of other editors. Before this vote is finalized, the admin in charge needs to make sure not to count the multiple comments from Smallnslow as multiple votes. 12.219.81.130 (talk) 19:04, 4 April 2014 (UTC)
- I think you may be misunderstanding the nature of AFD discussions and the intelligence of the administrators who close them. It is not uncommon for such back-and-forth discussions to happen in an AFD discussion, and it is expected that the closing administrators will look at the totality of the discussion. Unlike articles, making comments to others comments, even to the degree that this editor has done, is not WP:OWN in the negative sense of the word. As a participant in AFD discussions, I would actually welcome someone telling me "you are wrong, and here is why," but only if they made an argument that was so convincing that I actually re-considered my position. davidwr/(talk)/(contribs) 03:27, 5 April 2014 (UTC)

Problems
- For about 40 minutes on April 17, there were problems with page loading due to high server load.
- There is a problem with the rendering of formulas with MathJax. If you enabled MathJax in your preferences, you might need to turn it off and on again. [125]
