March 2016 edit

Welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, your addition of one or more external links to the page V8 Band has been reverted.
Your edit here to V8 Band was reverted by an automated bot that attempts to remove links which are discouraged per our external links guideline. The external link(s) you added or changed (https://www.facebook.com/V8-518019795042915/) is/are on my list of links to remove and probably shouldn't be included in Wikipedia.
If you were trying to insert an external link that does comply with our policies and guidelines, then please accept my creator's apologies and feel free to undo the bot's revert. However, if the link does not comply with our policies and guidelines, but your edit included other, constructive, changes to the article, feel free to make those changes again without re-adding the link. Please read Wikipedia's external links guideline for more information, and consult my list of frequently-reverted sites. For more information about me, see my FAQ page. Thanks! --XLinkBot (talk) 14:40, 14 March 2016 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion nomination of This & That edit

Hello DakotallyAwesome,

I wanted to let you know that I just tagged This & That for deletion, because it seems to be promotional, rather than an encyclopedia article.

If you feel that the article shouldn't be deleted and want more time to work on it, you can contest this deletion, but please don't remove the speedy deletion tag from the top.

You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions. Jppcap (talk) 21:48, 14 March 2016 (UTC)Reply

Your recent edits edit

Hello and welcome to Wikipedia. When you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion (but never when editing articles), please be sure to sign your posts. There are two ways to do this. Either:

  1. Add four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment; or
  2. With the cursor positioned at the end of your comment, click on the signature button (  or  ) located above the edit window.

This will automatically insert a signature with your username or IP address and the time you posted the comment. This information is necessary to allow other editors to easily see who wrote what and when.

Thank you. --SineBot (talk) 23:45, 14 March 2016 (UTC)Reply

Conflict of interest edit

This edit [1] raised some concern with me that you might represent this individual and/or his band(s). If you are editing on his behalf, please note that it is considered a conflict of interest to edit topics where you have a personal or professional connection to the subject of the article. It is even more serious if you are being paid for your efforts, in which case you would have to put up a mandatory disclosure per WP:PAID.

On the other hand, if you are just a fan, please ensure the information you put in articles comes from published reliable sources that are independent of the musician/group in question. Thanks. --Drm310 (talk) 00:50, 15 March 2016 (UTC)Reply

Over at Commons, he said that he's "[h]elping the artist set up his Wiki by request."  Rebbing  talk  01:30, 16 March 2016 (UTC)Reply

The Best Of Donnie Vie edit

This is an automated message from CorenSearchBot. I have performed a web search with the contents of The Best Of Donnie Vie, and it appears to include material copied directly from https://itunes.apple.com/gb/album/the-best-of-donnie-vie/id1042509335.

It is possible that the bot was mistaken and found similarity where none actually exists. If that is the case, you can remove the tag from the article. The article will be reviewed to determine if there are any copyright issues.

If substantial content is duplicated and it is not public domain or available under a compatible license, it will be deleted. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material. You may use such publications as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. See our copyright policy for further details. (If you own the copyright to the previously published content and wish to donate it, see Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials for the procedure.) CorenSearchBot (talk) 00:13, 16 March 2016 (UTC)Reply

Apologies, I did initially copy the tracklisting. But it is just text. DakotallyAwesome (talk) 00:19, 16 March 2016 (UTC)Reply

Edit summaries edit

Regarding this edit:

  • Please read WP:MINOR: the "minor edit" checkbox is not a subjective judgment call; it's an assertion that you haven't changed even one word of the page's substance. Checking it incorrectly is considered dishonest by many editors.
  • You must accurately describe your edits in your edit summaries. The edit I referenced not only added a section (as it stated) but removed a copyvio notice.

Thanks!  Rebbing  talk  01:24, 16 March 2016 (UTC)Reply

Album covers edit

If you haven't found out already, Commons is pretty strict about copyright licensing: to keep them, Mr. Vie will need to agree to license his album covers under an appropriate license (which would allow anyone to reuse them—something many artists would not want). An alternative is uploading them directly to Wikipedia and claiming fair use with {{Non-free use rationale album cover}} and {{Non-free album cover}}: that's how most album art is uploaded to Wikipedia. Take a look at the This Way article and its cover art for an example. If you don't take care of this, your images will be deleted from Commons—some sooner than others, but all within a few months.

Good luck.  Rebbing  talk  01:39, 16 March 2016 (UTC)Reply

Disambiguation link notification for March 16 edit

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that you've added some links pointing to disambiguation pages. Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Replaceable fair use File:BazFrancis.jpg edit

Thanks for uploading File:BazFrancis.jpg. I noticed that this file is being used under a claim of fair use. However, I think that the way it is being used fails the first non-free content criterion. This criterion states that files used under claims of fair use may have no free equivalent; in other words, if the file could be adequately covered by a freely-licensed file or by text alone, then it may not be used on Wikipedia. If you believe this file is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the file description page and add the text {{di-replaceable fair use disputed|<your reason>}} below the original replaceable fair use template, replacing <your reason> with a short explanation of why the file is not replaceable.
  2. On the file discussion page, write a full explanation of why you believe the file is not replaceable.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace this non-free media item by finding freely licensed media of the same subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or similar) media under a free license, or by creating new media yourself (for example, by taking your own photograph of the subject).

If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified how these media fully satisfy our non-free content criteria. You can find a list of description pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that even if you follow steps 1 and 2 above, non-free media which could be replaced by freely licensed alternatives will be deleted 2 days after this notification (7 days if uploaded before 13 July 2006), per the non-free content policy. If you have any questions, please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Whpq (talk) 16:09, 18 March 2016 (UTC)Reply

Orphaned non-free image File:Exclaimation.jpg edit

Thanks for uploading File:Exclaimation.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described in the criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. --B-bot (talk) 17:33, 21 March 2016 (UTC)Reply
