I really appreciate your help in what is to be the last article that I will nominate for "GA". If only there were more understanding people around here like you, it would great. Thank you. Tony the Marine (talk) 06:12, 1 April 2009 (UTC)

Don't worry about it. I'm just glad that my first FLC (I've collaborated on some Featured content before but not as the primary content contributor) has five supports and looks like it is all but over. -MBK004 04:29, 2 April 2009 (UTC)

Opinion

Hello Dabomb87, I believe that List of Hispanic Medal of Honor recipients may have a chance at "FLC" once the referencing format is taken care of. I would like your opinion. Tony the Marine (talk) 22:25, 4 April 2009 (UTC)

Looks pretty good. I will work on the referencing. Just a reminder, dates should not be linked. Dabomb87 (talk) 22:50, 4 April 2009 (UTC)
You did an excellent job. I delinked the dates and decided to try my hand at the ref. formatting thing. Would you say that it looks like an "FL" candidate now? Tony the Marine (talk) 00:24, 6 April 2009 (UTC)
Looks good except for one important detail, which I will bring up on your talk page. Dabomb87 (talk) 01:21, 6 April 2009 (UTC)
  • You are right!: I replaced http://www.homeofheroes.com/e-books/mohE_hispanic/index.html with one from the U.S. ARMY CENTER OF MILITARY HISTORY, now http://www.mishalov.com/Versace.html is a website which completely cites excerpts from the Washington Post and Washington Times, which I think would make it reliable. Tony the Marine (talk) 02:05, 6 April 2009 (UTC)
  • Thanks for the advice, I'll see what can be done about the images. I know that the military image thing has become a pain. Tony the Marine (talk) 02:25, 6 April 2009 (UTC)
    • I hate to bother you so much, but I would like your opinion if an added rationle would work before I continue to do the same to the others. ex:File:Lucian Adams.jpg. Thank you once more. Tony the Marine (talk) 05:58, 6 April 2009 (UTC)
      • Are you sure the image is copyrighted? Dabomb87 (talk) 00:04, 7 April 2009 (UTC)
  • Hum.. I see what you mean. I'm just experimenting, therefore I removed the "non-Free" tag, however I figured that the addition of a "rationsle" for use won't hurt. Tony the Marine (talk) 00:38, 7 April 2009 (UTC)

FLC nominations and reviews

Hi, Dabomb. You may not be aware, but the new Featured list criteria was implemented Sunday 5 April, 00:56 (UTC) following two weeks of discussion at Wikipedia talk:Featured list criteria#New criterion discussion.

I've gone through the nominations and have noticed you have !voted Support, Oppose or Neutral at the following nominations:

  1. Wikipedia:Featured list candidates/List of Chicago Blackhawks players/archive4 (List of Chicago Blackhawks players)
  2. Wikipedia:Featured list candidates/Michael Faraday Prize/archive1 (Michael Faraday Prize)
  3. Wikipedia:Featured list candidates/Veronica Mars (season 2)/archive1 (Veronica Mars (season 2))
  4. Wikipedia:Featured list candidates/List of number-one albums of 2008 (U.S.)/archive1 (List of number-one albums of 2008 (U.S.))
  5. Wikipedia:Featured list candidates/Timeline of the 2007–08 South Pacific cyclone season/archive2 (Timeline of the 2007–08 South Pacific cyclone season)
  6. Wikipedia:Featured list candidates/2008 NBA Draft/archive1 (2008 NBA Draft)

Please could you take the time to revisit the articles and candidate pages, and check them against the new Featured list criteria, and confirm/revise your !vote; any !vote made against the old criteria that is not confirmed against the new criteria will be ignored when the nomination is closed.

Additionally, the following nominations have received reviews from you, but no indication whether or not you support or oppose their promotion to WP:FL; if you could revisit these too, that would be much appreciated as the nomination will not have to be kept open any longer than necessary.

  1. Wikipedia:Featured list candidates/Paulini Curuenavuli discography/archive2 (Paulini Curuenavuli discography)

Finally, please accept my apologies for the brusqueness of this message; the same wording is being sent to everyone who has outstanding reviews, with only the names of lists being changed. Regards, Matthewedwards :  Chat  04:55, 9 April 2009 (UTC)

Help with Editor review

I want to create a preloaded message for WP:ER, so you the nominators can be more aware to add their name to the archive. I also want to make archiving an easier task, you think a bot can do this? Possibly extending the time limit or no?--Truco 16:27, 8 April 2009 (UTC)

But how do you get it to preload?--Truco 23:06, 8 April 2009 (UTC)
See Template:FLC. Dabomb87 (talk) 23:15, 8 April 2009 (UTC)
Okay thanks. Now, is there a way to get the coding to appear (like the questions/review/edit count) when you initiate the nomination (like at FLC) instead of the substituted template? In this way, we can get rid of it from showing up under the preload message.--Truco 23:53, 8 April 2009 (UTC)
I'm not sure about that since I didn't write that. I think that can be removed since editor really applies to all your contributions. But splendid job on your reorganization, did my changes to the preload and template look okay?--Truco 17:20, 10 April 2009 (UTC)
Yeah, I made some more changes. I removed the sentence in question. Dabomb87 (talk) 17:22, 10 April 2009 (UTC)
That's even better. Do you think you can assist me in reviewing some requests, because right now its just me reviewing most ERs.--Truco 17:26, 10 April 2009 (UTC)

Need wordsmithing

List_of_United_States_Military_Academy_alumni_(Medal_of_Honor) is almost ready for FLC. But I need help with the second paragraph of the lead. Following the USNA MOH list layout, it's a summary of first/recent MOH recipients. But depending on how you determine that, it's rather awkward right now and doesn't flow well. IE, is the "first" determined by the date they are an alum (or would have been if they'd graduated) or by date of action that earned them the MOH? Following the USNA MOH model, we used date of action but the sitation with the USMA recipients is more awkward. Can you help out here? You may want to look at the summary list I put on the talk page and note I put in footnote 8. Thanks. RlevseTalk 14:51, 12 April 2009 (UTC)

You didn't change much. You think it's okay the way it is? RlevseTalk 15:54, 12 April 2009 (UTC)
Did you see my note on the talk page? Dabomb87 (talk) 15:57, 12 April 2009 (UTC)

Adding sections

I think actually there is a need for "so many sections" ! It's muchmore readable that way ! Lurulu (talk) 00:16, 13 April 2009 (UTC)

The Featured article criteria says that the Table of Contents should be "substantial but not overwhelming". Adding those unnecessary sections makes the TOC longer and unnecessarily disrupts the flow of the article. Dabomb87 (talk) 00:20, 13 April 2009 (UTC)
I don't agree ! However that may be, I think the Grammay Award section is far too long !
According to me, the Table of Contents is not enough "substantial" ! Lurulu (talk) 00:23, 13 April 2009 (UTC)
Use paragraph breaks instead of new section headers. Dabomb87 (talk) 01:11, 13 April 2009 (UTC)

No Country list

I wouldn't have an issue with wikitable if I could find a way to use a different background color in the title line, but I'm not finding a way to do this. Do you have an idea of how to code it? Wildhartlivie (talk) 01:00, 13 April 2009 (UTC)

What do you mean by "title line"? Dabomb87 (talk) 01:12, 13 April 2009 (UTC)
The titles line of the table that includes Award, Category, Recipients and nominees and Outcome. Wildhartlivie (talk) 01:14, 13 April 2009 (UTC)
One of those "easier to show than to explain" things, huh? Thanks. Wildhartlivie (talk) 01:27, 13 April 2009 (UTC)

Cycling at the 2008 Summer Olympics – Women's road race

I was working on the Cycling at the 2008 Summer Olympics – Women's road race article when I saw that some references had no publisher, and I saw in the code that there was an agency, which was not displayed in the final result, so I changed it back. I just saw that you changed it from publisher to agency earlier... Don't be mad at me for my revert. I am now going to look at the cite web template, to see if I can learn something which you know and I do not know. Your changes to the artciel have been great sofar, so I assume you know better!--EdgeNavidad (talk) 16:04, 13 April 2009 (UTC)

Basketball HOF list

  • All the pictures are pushing the tables down. Placement needs checking.
  • There are multiple fair-use photos that probably can't be justified.
  • I think it's odd to have an achievements column for coaches when there is nothing similar for contributors and such.
  • Are there any third-party references that could be used in the lead? Right now, there is only one general reference not from the Basketball Hall of Fame.
  • Cites needed for 2009 inductees. Perfect spot for a third-party news story.

Prose looks good. The photos are my big concern, but I have no doubt that this will get my support at some point. Giants2008 (17-14) 17:18, 13 April 2009 (UTC)

Can fair use images be used if they have proper license and fair use rationale?—Chris! ct 19:03, 13 April 2009 (UTC)
The thing is, we have so many free images that we don't need to add a fair use image to the article also. No one image is indispensable, except perhaps for the Dr. Naismith one. Dabomb87 (talk) 19:05, 13 April 2009 (UTC)
Ok—Chris! ct 19:14, 13 April 2009 (UTC)

I think there is too much inconsistency in the achievement column. (eg. championship vs. Championship) We should decide on that before adding more stuff to the column.—Chris! ct 21:12, 13 April 2009 (UTC)

I would ask this on the FLC but thought I would get a quicker answer asking you here. You want the #, Wrestlers, Reign, Date, Days held, and the Successful defenses columns all centered in List of ROH World Champions right?--WillC 23:57, 14 April 2009 (UTC)

Do you think for for this table that I need to keep linking "singles match" for that unsortable column despite the table being small enough IMO to avoid doing that?--Truco 15:21, 19 April 2009 (UTC)

Yes, to keep everything consistent. Dabomb87 (talk) 15:22, 19 April 2009 (UTC)
Oh, okay then. Another question. I'm trying to make a different set up for this list unlike its predecessor by having the summary of the draft in the lead, and how the draft worked during the television portion and how it worked via the Internet, do you think it works?--Truco 15:25, 19 April 2009 (UTC)
Yes, I like the 2009 version better. Dabomb87 (talk) 15:27, 19 April 2009 (UTC)

One more thing, do you think if I put the background section in the lead it won't be a problem?--Truco 15:43, 19 April 2009 (UTC)
I don't know, does it make sense to have a separate Aftermath section but to have a merged background section? Dabomb87 (talk) 15:49, 19 April 2009 (UTC)
Hmm. Well, I guess not. But the thing is that the background has things already stated in the lead. Okay, if I link some things in the lead, should I link them again in the BG section?--Truco 18:35, 19 April 2009 (UTC)
Yes. Dabomb87 (talk) 18:36, 19 April 2009 (UTC)
