ArbCom 2021 Elections voter message

 Hello! Voting in the 2021 Arbitration Committee elections is now open until 23:59 (UTC) on Monday, 6 December 2021. All eligible users are allowed to vote. Users with alternate accounts may only vote once.

The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.

Whenever you tag a page for deletion, please state what you are doing in an appropriate edit summary. In this case, it could be "Proposing article for deletion" or, even, just "PROD". This is especially important with proposed deletion in case someone removes the PROD tag because articles can only be PROD'd once. We know an article has been PROD'd before by looking at edit summaries in the page history. Plus, it is always a good habit to leave an edit summary, it informs other editors what you did so they don't have to actually look at each one of your edits to see this themselves. It's a courtesy.

Also, any time you tag a page for any type of deletion (CSD, PROD, AFD/RFD/TFD/etc.), you MUST post a notification on the talk page of the page creator. It is part of the deletion process. This is done easily by making use of Twinkle and setting up your Twinkle Preferences to "Notify page creator". If you use Twinkle, it will take care of both the edit summary (hey!) and the page notification for you! If you choose not to make use of Twinkle, then you will have to write the notification yourself. Please do this any time in the future when you tag pages for deletion.
