Thanks for your efforts... edit

Swcrowe, I appreciate your efforts to build out the West Virginia Mountaineers football article. Please, take a moment to review Wikipedia:HEADING regarding the proper capitalization of section headings. I also encourage you to check out Wikipedia:WikiProject College football. There are a lot of resources there for editors working on college football topics and it's a good place to bring up problems and pose questions for discussion. Let me know if I can be of any help. Thanks. Jweiss11 (talk) 07:00, 6 December 2011 (UTC)Reply

West Virginia Mountaineers football article edit

Sure thing, glad to help. I'm gonna go check out Pitt's page and see if they've admitted that ASU is a step up from Pitt in the college football world. Hahah let's go Mountaineers!(Shredder2012 (talk) 00:20, 15 December 2011 (UTC))Reply

Re:1989 West Virginia Mountainers football team page edit

Actually, the 1989 Gator Bowl (December) article never existed. 1989 Gator Bowl exists, but only because there were two games that calendar year. One in January, at the end of the 1988 season, and one in December, at the end of the 1989 season. Feel free to create that article if you'd like. There are many other examples of bowl game articles you could use to get started. Happy editing! DeFaultRyan 15:46, 17 January 2012 (UTC)Reply

West Virginia football edit

West Virginia is officially a member of the Big East right now and will not become a member of the Big 12 until July. Leave as Big east until then.--Rockchalk717 (talk) 21:07, 11 April 2012 (UTC)Reply

I'm keeping it as Big 12. The schedule is out and they won't play another down of football in the Big East conference. Not to mention, ESPN's Big 12 football blog now covers WVU. There's no reason to leave it as Big East. The argument that "it's not official until July 1" does nothing more than split hairs. Swcrowemsg 19:53, 12 April 2012 (UTC)Reply
I started a discussion at the talkpage. If no other users put in opinions I will move it to the project page. Leave it alone for now since Big East is what is accurate at the present moment. Also I strongly suggest you read WP:OWN because several of your statements about the situation appear to violate it.-Rockchalk717 (talk) 02:54, 13 April 2012 (UTC)Reply
And your statements strongly suggest the same, such as "leave as Big East until then" and "leave it alone". We can play this game all day...Swcrowemsg 03:06, 13 April 2012 (UTC)Reply
In response to my talkpage, me too. In response to your trash talk, we shall see December 1st. Welcome to the Big 12, not sure if you guys are ready for Big 12 football. Ha ha! Lol.--Rockchalk717 04:36, 14 April 2012 (UTC)
Looking forward to it! I still don't understand why your Jayhawks fired Mangino, thought that was a huge mistake. In any event, I (along with the majority of WVU fans) are looking forward to the Big 12. It's going to be a real challenge for the Mountaineers to continue the kind of success they enjoyed in the Big East. I am anxious to see how my Alma Mater stacks up against much stiffer competition. Best of luck to KU as well (except on December 1! lol). Keep in touch... Swcrowemessage 06:24, 14 April 2012 (UTC)Reply
Mangino resigned, Gill they fired. I am excited for new conference opponents, really looking forward to the basketball games.--Rockchalk717 21:04, 14 April 2012 (UTC)
In my opinion, Mangino's resignation was as a forced resignation if there ever was one.Swcrowemessage 21:51, 14 April 2012 (UTC)Reply

Initial GA remarks to be posted within 24 hours. I'm a bit awestruck that your nomination lay dormant for well over three months, especially when other articles have their reviews initiated within days or even just hours. There's nothing that necessarily says you absolutely have to take one from the top of the list when reviewing, but damned if that doesn't seem contrary to how the thing is supposed to work. Well, your wait is (nearly) over. Green-eyed girl (Talk · Contribs) 01:27, 22 May 2012 (UTC)Reply

Haha, no worries! Never in a rush. Thanks for contacting me. Swcrowemessage 07:45, 22 May 2012 (UTC)Reply
It's gonna take me a couple more days to get all the way through it. I hope you don't take the breadth and length of my review as any sort of indictment against the quality of the article, this is simply how I work. Green-eyed girl (Talk · Contribs) 07:04, 24 May 2012 (UTC)Reply
Not a problem at all, and that thought never once crossed my mind. I've been editing the article accordingly, following the guidelines of your review (and admonishing myself for the simple grammatical mistakes in the process!).Swcrowemessage 07:33, 24 May 2012 (UTC)Reply
Good :) Just making sure. Green-eyed girl (Talk · Contribs) 07:57, 24 May 2012 (UTC)Reply

WV uniforms edit

Thank you for your kindness and recognition to my work. I really appreciate it so I have not so much experience rendering american football uniforms, but I always enjoy a lot designing them. I'll make the changes to the helmets to upload the new version of the file a.s.a.p. My great goal would be to add all the missing NCAA uniforms but I know that I'll take some time.

On My user page at Commons you can take a look to some of my other contributions to sports uniforms (and other vector files) if you wish. Thank you again for the support ! - Fma12 (talk) 20:29, 21 April 2013 (UTC)Reply

More about WV uniforms edit

Thanks again for your feedback. To be sincere, I left the socks white because I had not found any reference to know what color they should be. Of course you can edit the picture to modify the socks colors. I would feel really honoured if you'll use one of my images as guidance to colorize the WV socks. So go ahead and good luck !

Don't hesitate to contact me if you need some assistance. Thank you again! Best, - Fma12 (talk) 04:39, 23 April 2013 (UTC)Reply

Hi pal: I haven't seen other photos than the one you showed me and the promotional material displayed at NikeInc website. The pics displayed there suggest that the protective masks are dark blue and white respectively, although I'm not completely sure to affirm that with a 100% accuracy.
About the socks, if I didn't understand wrong, all of them should be completely white, right?. If so, could you please confirm this ? Once I have all the information checked, I'll work on the file to have it uploaded immediately.
Thanks again for your support ! - Fma12 (talk) 19:40, 24 April 2013 (UTC)Reply

Proposed deletion of File:WVUhelmet.png edit

The file File:WVUhelmet.png has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

unused, low-res, no obvious use

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated files}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the file's talk page.

Please consider addressing the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated files}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and files for discussion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion.

This bot DID NOT nominate any file(s) for deletion; please refer to the page history of each individual file for details. Thanks, FastilyBot (talk) 01:01, 23 August 2019 (UTC)Reply

Replaceable fair use File:Art Lewis WVU.jpg edit

Thanks for uploading File:Art Lewis WVU.jpg. I noticed that this file is being used under a claim of fair use. However, I think that the way it is being used fails the first non-free content criterion. This criterion states that files used under claims of fair use may have no free equivalent; in other words, if the file could be adequately covered by a freely-licensed file or by text alone, then it may not be used on Wikipedia. If you believe this file is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the file description page and add the text {{Di-replaceable fair use disputed|<your reason>}} below the original replaceable fair use template, replacing <your reason> with a short explanation of why the file is not replaceable.
  2. On the file discussion page, write a full explanation of why you believe the file is not replaceable.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace this non-free media item by finding freely licensed media of the same subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or similar) media under a free license, or by creating new media yourself (for example, by taking your own photograph of the subject).

If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified how these media fully satisfy our non-free content criteria. You can find a list of description pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that even if you follow steps 1 and 2 above, non-free media which could be replaced by freely licensed alternatives will be deleted 2 days after this notification, per the non-free content policy. If you have any questions, please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. -- Marchjuly (talk) 10:27, 8 January 2023 (UTC)Reply
