Hello, I'm Materialscientist. I noticed that in this edit to Maurya Empire, you removed content without adequately explaining why. In the future, it would be helpful to others if you described your changes to Wikipedia with an edit summary. If this was a mistake, don't worry, the removed content has been restored. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. Materialscientist (talk) 11:21, 1 July 2020 (UTC)Reply

Sorry for the inconvenience caused by me...But I do have reasons for the edit...We are collecting & researching on topics related to Ancient India, especially the Mauryan Empire. And we do find that map not an accurate description. For details regarding the reason for edition, we will surely produce them. Civilizations1234 (talk) 11:29, 1 July 2020 (UTC)Reply

Your recent editing history shows that you are currently engaged in an edit war; that means that you are repeatedly changing content back to how you think it should be, when you have seen that other editors disagree. To resolve the content dispute, please do not revert or change the edits of others when you are reverted. Instead of reverting, please use the talk page to work toward making a version that represents consensus among editors. The best practice at this stage is to discuss, not edit-war. See the bold, revert, discuss cycle for how this is done. If discussions reach an impasse, you can then post a request for help at a relevant noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, you may wish to request temporary page protection.

Being involved in an edit war can result in you being blocked from editing—especially if you violate the three-revert rule, which states that an editor must not perform more than three reverts on a single page within a 24-hour period. Undoing another editor's work—whether in whole or in part, whether involving the same or different material each time—counts as a revert. Also keep in mind that while violating the three-revert rule often leads to a block, you can still be blocked for edit warring—even if you do not violate the three-revert rule—should your behavior indicate that you intend to continue reverting repeatedly. पाटलिपुत्र Pat (talk) 12:43, 1 July 2020 (UTC)Reply

Proposed deletion of Suman Koli

edit

The article Suman Koli has been proposed for deletion because it appears to have no references. Under Wikipedia policy, this biography of a living person will be deleted after seven days unless it has at least one reference to a reliable source that directly supports material in the article.

If you created the article, please don't be offended. Instead, consider improving the article. For help on inserting references, see Referencing for beginners, or ask at the help desk. Once you have provided at least one reliable source, you may remove the {{prod blp/dated}} tag. Please do not remove the tag unless the article is sourced. If you cannot provide such a source within seven days, the article may be deleted, but you can request that it be undeleted when you are ready to add one. Speedy deletion nomination of K K Kadam

edit

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. This is a notice to inform you that a tag has been placed on K K Kadam requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a very short article providing little or no context to the reader. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here. Conflict of interest editing

edit

Hello, Civilizations1234. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about on the page Umesh Ashok Kadam, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a conflict of interest may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for organizations for more information. We ask that you:

In addition, you are required by the Wikimedia Foundation's terms of use to disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution which forms all or part of work for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation. See Wikipedia:Paid-contribution disclosure.

Also, editing for the purpose of advertising, publicising, or promoting anyone or anything is not permitted. Thank you. Melcous (talk) 05:14, 27 February 2022 (UTC)Reply

Thank You for your concerns. But I would like to disclose here that I have no kind of conflict of interest in creating this page nor have any personal or professional links with the person mentioned in the page created by me. My intention to create this page is not for any publicity campaign. I am ready to fully comply with guidelines and ethics of Wikepedia. Thank YouCivilizations1234 (talk) 05:31, 27 February 2022 (UTC)Reply

Could you please explain how this image is your own work if you have no personal or professional links with this person? Melcous (talk) 12:43, 27 February 2022 (UTC)Reply

The image was downloaded from Mr. Kadam's Facebook page. It was a mistake on my part to assign it as my own work. I do apologize for making that mistake. I am ready to remedy the wrong by deleting the image. Thank You Civilizations1234 (talk) 18:19, 27 February 2022 (UTC)Reply

If that is the case then yes, you need to deal with the copyright issues you have created by claiming an image as your own work if it is not. However, there are also three other images on the article that you have also uploaded here and claimed as your own work, and they do not seem to be available from his public facebook page (and a reverse image search does not seem to show them anywhere else). Can you please explain where you got those images from? If you do have a conflict of interest, it is far better for you to simply disclose that and then abide by the policy, rather than pretend you do not if you do. Melcous (talk) 03:27, 28 February 2022 (UTC)Reply

I stand by my words that I unintentionally committed a mistake. However, I donot understand why you were not able to find the same photographs in his Facebook page. Thank YouCivilizations1234 (talk) 05:53, 28 February 2022 (UTC)Reply

As for the matter of conflict of interest, do you know this individual personally in any way? 'cause I have seen you have added controversial remarks about the person in question in the Wiki page. It is one thing to advocate for neutrality, but to engage in political mudslinging at the same time is confusing though. Personally, I do not have any issue about adding any additional info about anyone in wiki though. Thank You Civilizations1234 (talk) 06:26, 28 February 2022 (UTC)Reply

No, I do not have any connection with this person in any way, and you can see from my edit history here on wikipedia that I have edited a wide range of articles about a large number of people over many years. What I added to the article is what is found in the available sources about him. Melcous (talk) 11:23, 28 February 2022 (UTC)Reply
I also note that since I asked the question about COI editing of this article, two more brand new accounts have been created to solely edit this article. I have put on each of their talk pages a standard warning about wikipedia's policy on multiple accounts which you may also wish to read. Thank you Melcous (talk) 11:27, 28 February 2022 (UTC)Reply

Thank you for clearing your stand on this issue. I have noticed that you have deleted the photos in the concerned Wiki page. I was planning to do the same since it carried copyright violations issue. May I ask you is it possible to reupload the images with the exact source mentioned to avoid any future conflicts?

As for what other wiki editors do, that's none of my concern as long as the works in which I have been actively involved in is not vandalised. I have nothing whatsoever to do with the activities of any other editors or account. Again, Thank You Civilizations1234 (talk) 12:58, 28 February 2022 (UTC)Reply

No it is not possible for you to re-upload the photos unless you actually own them. See Wikipedia:Image use policy for more information. Melcous (talk) 13:07, 28 February 2022 (UTC)Reply

Even if I cite the source of the photo? Is it because of the previous copyright issue that it is not possible to upload them even if the source link is given? If so, then fine. Thank You Civilizations1234 (talk) 13:34, 28 February 2022 (UTC)Reply

It would need to be the person who holds the copyright on the photo who gives permission for it to be used, and if you have simply downloaded a photo from someone you do not know's facebook page, it would seem impossible for you to know who that is. Melcous (talk) 13:51, 28 February 2022 (UTC)Reply

Then it's ok. Thank You Civilizations1234 (talk) 14:20, 28 February 2022 (UTC)Reply

Also, if it is possible for you, could you please remove the template staying that a "major contributer" have some conflict of interest in the page in question. I have spent enough of my valuable time and energy in this unnecessary controversy. I am not going to do anything in the concerned page anymore. If it doesn't bother you, please heed my request. Thank you Civilizations1234 (talk) 14:30, 28 February 2022 (UTC)Reply

Since this page has created this much issue, I am proposing to delete this page. I am going to remove all the contents which were added from my side. I hope you don't have any issue with that. Thank YouCivilizations1234 (talk) 03:35, 1 March 2022 (UTC)Reply

That is not the right way to go about having an article deleted. As the proposed deletion has been contested by CodeTalker, and as the template clearly says, you should not replace it. Look, to be honest, my best guess is still that you are (or are closely connected to) the subject of the article, you created the article, and have now realised that anyone can edit it and add content that you/the subject might not want here - see WP:LUC and WP:ABOUTME. Which is fine, and possibly suggests that the subject should not have had an article in the first place and may not meet wikipedia's notability criteria. If I am correct, there are a couple of options. You could use the WP:AFD process to nominate the article for deletion (or if you would like me to do this for you, please ask). Alternatively, you could post on the Wikipedia:Biographies of living persons/Noticeboard, explain the situation and request help. Or you could contact the oversight team - see WP:BIOSELF. If I am wrong and you genuinely do not have a conflict of interest here, then you should use the talk page on the article to explain if there is content that you think is not neutral or not verified by reliable sources. Thank you Melcous (talk) 08:18, 1 March 2022 (UTC)Reply

Enough damage have been done here. I kindly request you nominate this page for deletion on charges of conflict of interest. Thank You Civilizations1234 (talk) 08:48, 1 March 2022 (UTC)Reply

As I said, I am happy to do so, but in order to do so I do need to understand what the Conflict of Interest is. Are you saying that you are the subject of the article and that you would like it to be deleted? Thanks Melcous (talk) 09:24, 1 March 2022 (UTC)Reply

Yes. I am the subject of this article and I like to see it deleted. I deeply regret if any of my actions violated Wiki guidlines. Thank You Civilizations1234 (talk) 10:33, 1 March 2022 (UTC)Reply

Thank you. As you can see from the notice below, I have nominated the article for deletion. You are welcome to comment on the deletion page Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/U Kadam, as is any other editor. The discussion will stay open for a week or so. Melcous (talk) 12:09, 1 March 2022 (UTC)Reply
