Cookies to welcome you!
Hello, Christian Damgaard! Thank you for your contributions. My name's Airplaneman and I just wanted to say hi and Welcome to Wikipedia!

You may benefit from following some of the links below, which will help you get the most out of the world's largest encyclopædia. If you have any questions, feel free to ask me on my talk page, or place {{helpme}} on your talk page and ask your question there. I love to help new users, so don't be afraid to leave a message! Please remember to sign your name on talk pages by clicking   or by typing four tildes "~~~~"; this will automatically produce your name, the date and the time. You'll soon learn to appreciate people using helpful edit summaries, so please contribute by filling in that box (just above Save Page) every time you edit.

If you are already loving Wikipedia, you might want to consider being "adopted" by a more experienced editor or joining a WikiProject to collaborate with others in creating and improving articles of your interest. (There's a comprehensive Directory of WikiProjects, and you'll find many article talk pages have banners from a relevant project.) Again, welcome, and happy editing!

Nomination of Plant cover for deletion edit

A discussion has begun about whether the article Plant cover, which you created or to which you contributed, should be deleted. While contributions are welcome, an article may be deleted if it is inconsistent with Wikipedia policies and guidelines for inclusion, explained in the deletion policy.

The article will be discussed at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Plant cover until a consensus is reached, and you are welcome to contribute to the discussion.

You may edit the article during the discussion, including to address concerns raised in the discussion. However, do not remove the article-for-deletion template from the top of the article. — Timneu22 · talk 11:54, 22 October 2010 (UTC)Reply

Pin point method edit

Hi Christian, I was just patrolling new edits (while I'm supposed to be making final corrections on my phD thesis) and happened to come across a bit of a coincidence. I noticed your edits to plant cover - you'd be pleased to know I'm in the process of editing a chapter / paper on the value of modelling plant abundance and have just been fixing phrasing on the statistical issues of trying to model non metric BB in contrast to the far more amenable methods such as pin intersection (I used a pin drop method every 1m in a 20*20m quadrat, but have referenced a few of your papers). I look forward to reading more of your work! Clovis Sangrail (talk) 11:30, 31 October 2010 (UTC)Reply

ArbCom elections are now open! edit

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. Happy Earth day! edit

Happy Earth Day!

Hello! Wishing you a Happy Earth day on the behalf of WikiProject Environment and WikiProject Ecology.

When man tries to fight nature, he invariably loses. Nature invariably wins. It is only when man is wise enough to live with nature that he really gets anywhere.
