Copying a web page's address edit

In reference to your "External links" post in the Teahouse, try this. When the page you want to use as an external link (or in a citation, for that matter) is open in your browser, click once anywhere in the address window at the top of the browser. That should highlight the entire address ("http:..."). Then, if you are using Windows, hold the control key and hit the C key. That should copy the address. Then you can use the control key and hit V to paste the address wherever you want. If you are using a Macintosh, try the command key with C and V respectively. I'm not sure, but I think those key commands work on a Mac.

I use that technique any time I need to copy and paste a URL, especially in citation templates. Eddie Blick (talk) 01:59, 2 March 2021 (UTC)Reply

Your draft edit

For Draft:John Wayne Falbey II, if you decide to not proceed, you can either tag it for deletion, so that an Administrator will delete it, or you can not work on it, and about six months from now you will get a Talk notice that the draft will be deleted, as no work is being done. Important Notice edit

This is a standard message to notify contributors about an administrative ruling in effect. It does not imply that there are any issues with your contributions to date.

You have shown interest in post-1992 politics of the United States and closely related people. Due to past disruption in this topic area, a more stringent set of rules called discretionary sanctions is in effect. Any administrator may impose sanctions on editors who do not strictly follow Wikipedia's policies, or the page-specific restrictions, when making edits related to the topic.

For additional information, please see the guidance on discretionary sanctions and the Arbitration Committee's decision here. If you have any questions, or any doubts regarding what edits are appropriate, you are welcome to discuss them with me or any other editor.
