Welcome template edit

should be: {{subst:W-graphical|Celestialwarden11}} ~~~~,   Kind regards, SpitfireTally-ho! 19:53, 6 February 2010 (UTC)Reply

I've tried it, but it just doesn't look right. I took the welcoming message template from the committee's project page...I don't think it's wrong... Celestialwarden11 (talk) 19:57, 6 February 2010 (UTC)Reply

Heh heh, I made a mistake, it should actually be {{subst:W-graphical}} (no second parameter or signature), the template I normally use is {{subst:Welcome7|USERNAME}}, but hey, each to their own. Kind regards, SpitfireTally-ho! 19:59, 6 February 2010 (UTC)Reply
No problem, thanks for your help. Regards, SpitfireTally-ho! 20:02, 6 February 2010 (UTC)Reply

Thanks for welcoming new users! Question though, I see in the inserted text on their talk-pages:

  • Guys, please use this to keep track of ALL newly made accounts, so we can, like, totally WELCOME them, yeah!

That seems like it's template-documentation or other metacontent for the template, not intended to be for the welcomed user. Note quite sure even what template inserts that extra line, seems like just a thin wrapper around one of the other welcome-templates? DMacks (talk) 19:21, 13 February 2010 (UTC)Reply

Well, I didn't think that was exactly against the rules...You mean, there's people who's keeping close track of everything everyone says in a welcome? ... Sorry, DMacks. I just think it's a good bit of information for them to have. Have a great day! ^_^ Celestialwarden11 (talk) 19:24, 13 February 2010 (UTC)Reply

WP:AGF much? I clicked on a user-talk link, and the first thing I (and therefore the brand new user) sees is a comment that makes no sense to him and is not directed to him. The pretty colored box already has a link to welcome-committee stuff, so I don't think the extra tag adds anything, whereas it does detract. The colored-box is already well-established standard, so I'm trying to determine what the benefit of some alternative is. If it's better, then may as well get it into the standard. If it's not better, then well, why do something that is not better? DMacks (talk) 19:28, 13 February 2010 (UTC)Reply

Sigh...why do you care so much, though? You really think they would be confused? I'm just trying to contribute more here... And, please, what does the broken link mean? If you care so much, then kindly welcome these users yourself... Celestialwarden11 (talk) 19:30, 13 February 2010 (UTC)Reply

I have to agree, putting this notice on a newbies talk page is only going to confuse them. It confused me and I've been editing here for a couple years now. And it makes no sense to post a message on someone's page that is not actually directed at them. Beeblebrox (talk) 21:01, 13 February 2010 (UTC)Reply

Regarding the Book of Mormon edit

How much it relates to Christianity is dependant on who you ask. The Book of Mormon is only accepted as being divinely inspired by the Mormons. Most Mormons believe in a plurality of gods, that God the Father, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit are three completely separete Gods, that they only became Gods because God the Father made them Gods, that God the Father only became God by making some other God happy (who in turn, made some other God happy), and that a select number of Mormons who do enough good works will become gods over others in the world to come. An exception to this is the Community of Christ, who are basically mainstream Christians that happen to accept the Book of Mormon but interpret it in ways that do not contradict traditional Christian teachings (rather than interpreting the Bible to fit with the later writings such as the Book of Abraham, a copy of the Egyptian Book of the Dead that Joseph Smith Jr claimed to have translated but with completely different results). A comparison between Mormonism and Christianity may be found at Mormonism and Christianity, and the article Beliefs and practices of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints has more about Mormon beliefs and practices. Hi edit

Hi Celestialwarden11. Fear not. I was not reporting Ian. I was reporting a very disruptive Morman fanatic User:Jaredkunz30 who had issued a NPOV warning to Ian, would you believe. The editor was investigated and blocked as a sockpuppet of a blocked user. Ian kindly sent me a beer afterwards which was nice. Enjoy the rest of your day.--Charles (talk) 21:32, 16 February 2010 (UTC)Reply

Regarding Iotamikadoshi and other things edit

Hi, thanks for the barnstar. I've already explained to Iotamikadoshi what would happen if he tries to convert others, you did not need to give him a warning. Wikipedia does have rules against trying to convert people, but it does not have rules against practicing any religion, even Satanism. Iotamikadoshi should not be hated for his beliefs, especially by Christians. We should feel sorry for him and hope that he comes around. While trying to actively convert others is against the rules, there's nothing against being a Christian example to others. (I realize that some of the comments on my talk page may not have been the best they could have been, but I have been talking with Iotamikadoshi for some time and neither one of us was going to make any headway). Again, thanks for the barnstar. And don't worry, this isn't an official warning, just an explanation. Ian.thomson (talk) 23:10, 16 February 2010 (UTC)Reply

Thanks edit

Thankyou for the barn star. The section you just deleted made a fair point, but it was rather unfriendly to a new user as per Wikipedia:Please do not bite the newcomers. New users sometimes like to set up their user page and get to know the place before (hopefully) working on articles or fighting vandalism. Showing kindness to people is never a bad thing, although there are many manipulators in the real world who will take kindness and desire for friendship as a sign of weakness to be exploited. Take care.--Charles (talk) 18:54, 17 February 2010 (UTC)Reply

:) edit

Your comments here were really nice and they made me smile. Such kind words seem so rare and unusual on Wikipedia. We need more editors who are just, plain and simple, kind like that.

Although, the practical joke at the top of your page is most definitely not kind. :P Swarm(Talk) 10:45, 20 February 2010 (UTC)Reply

Oh, come on, Swarm, once in a while, one talk page out of millions, can't hurt... (really, imagine Wikipedia with no sense of humor anywhere at all...(o.O) Have a great day, all! ^_~ Celestialwarden11 (talk) 19:02, 20 February 2010 (UTC)Reply

Heh, you're right, better to have that kind of humor on Wikipedia than none at all! Thanks, Celestialwarden, and I do hope you will keep up your great work spreading kindness and cheering people up. If you ever have a question or need help or advice in any way, feel free to send me a message too. Best regards, Swarm(Talk) 20:52, 20 February 2010 (UTC)Reply

Actually, you deserve this:

Love love love. edit

I spread my love to you. I am in love, so plenty of love to go around (That also means I am NOT single, don't even try it!). Yeah, I think we got off to... a bad start? But I'm a nice guy, really!--大輔 泉 (talk) 16:04, 22 February 2010 (UTC)Reply

Thank you edit

Hello, I never got the chance to thank for you courtesy. Thank you for leaving such a positive message, that really made my day. God Bless you. :) Magiciandude (talk) 21:43, 3 March 2010 (UTC)Reply

Satanism edit

Please, do not try to sway me to your Christian cause or insist that my own beliefs are flawed, lest my wrath is truly provoked anew. You have no right at all to do so, and, personally, find you not your repulsive WikiSmiles to be physically nauseating at sight? I mean, seriously, surely all those you have tried to reach out to mock you and laugh, though you know it not. Celestialwarden11, what of the Satanic practices? Have ever you indulged in their beliefs? You and the Thomson man, do you not secretly seek to best my efforts, and those of my people's? Be warned, Christian: Not small is the power of those whom call the Black Sun Lord and Master. Can you not see that your Christainity wanes in strength, whilst Satanism waxes? Soon, all shall be made clear. I hope you consider this message well, Celestialwarden11, and I must insist that you refrain from sending me more WikiSmiles or warnings. Iotamikadoshi (talk) 18:05, 5 April 2010 (UTC)Reply

The discussion page is for discussing ways to improve the article not to spam Christian propaganda or your own stupidity. The evidence is there if I have to I will use it to suspend your account so you can't exploit Wikipedia to spam your propaganda and stupidity.Rev. Michael S. Margolin (talk) 22:16, 8 April 2010 (UTC)Reply

You have no right to do so, Mr. Margolin, none at all. Firstly, my contact with Iotamikadoshi began when he began bothering a fellow Wikipedian, trying to convert him to Satanism. And I think you know about me only because of another devil worshipper whom you've been in contact with answering the Iotamikadoshi user's "call". I mean, look at your user page, look at your talk page...it's pretty obvious your tone is biased as well, and you're using Wikipedia to promote your own cause. I mean, what kind of person would fill their user page with external links to dozens of pages, if for no other reason than spam? (I mean, come on, your first link was one to MySpace, so...) I mean, are you even allowed to do so? I really do not personally feel comfortable talking with Satanists anymore...please...just stop your threats against me. You yourself have been warned by multiple users, from issues ranging from vandalism to creating deleted pages over and over again; your general tone to others can also be regarded as simply uncivil. Some of the sections on your talk, such as That Section You Wanted and Satanism...hmmm are just strange, and have nothing to do with editing Wikipedia articles at all, but rather for your own social purposes; Lol If I Were a More Sensitive Person, I'd be Hurt is an entire section devoted to an off-site issue about your personal Satanist website. You have also flamed various users, particularly in the Not to late section, basically cursing them out and telling them to "get out of my country". Please, stop this. I don't even know who you are, but if you think you and Iotamikadoshi are not violating any Wikipedia rule, then you are sadly mistaken. Remember that Wikipedia itself is neither a talk page nor a forum, please. Thank you, Celestialwarden11 (talk) 21:52, 9 April 2010 (UTC)Reply

The following posts by you are a direct violation of wiki policies, Please, I do not want to bother anyone, but when I was going through the talk pages of a couple of my fave shows: [1][2], it said that Satanism was part of them? Is, like, this really true? Please, respond! Celestialwarden11 (talk) 19:41, 13 February 2010 (UTC) Phew, Thank God that this isn't true. Now, I can have a smashing time watching the shows without nervousness, yeah! Yahoo! Have a fantastic day, ALL! ^_^ Celestialwarden11 (talk) 20:07, 16 February 2010 (UTC Your accusations against me are mere attempts at misdirection, trying to get people to focus on me instead of your violations. I did not create the article nor my own user page I was thrown into Wikipedia by members of Satanic groups other than my own and some of my members to address the misuse of Wikipedia by Church of Satan and other religious fanatics like yourself. As you can see I've been very busy doing just that.Rev. Michael S. Margolin (talk) 18:51, 12 April 2010 (UTC)Reply

Oh, and Celestialwarden11, do not ever try to contact me again; I have had quite enough of your disgusting messages, and I ask you to stop your complaints to Ian Thomson as well. Even he agrees that this is solely your own fault. You have done nothing but disrupt Wikipedia as a whole. Farewell, Iotamikadoshi (talk) 20:42, 13 April 2010 (UTC)Reply
I don't know what started this, but I think it's time for everybody involved to end this. Wikipedia is the encyclopedia anybody can edit, and that includes a wide range of religions: Christians to Satanists, Jews to Jedi, and everything in between. Religion is also one of the hot buttons on Wikipedia that can trigger fierce editing disputes. While there's no prohibition against proclaiming one's religion on one's user page, talk messages which have the intent or create the appearance or proselytizing or recruiting aren't always a good idea. As this exchange shows, they're typically unwelcome by the recipient—and persistently leaving them could be considered harassment.
I disagree with Iotamikadoshi's characterization of Ian Thomson's remarks, but I think his request to no longer be contacted is a reasonable one.
More broadly, I think it's best for everybody here to go on about their editing: neither should Celestialwarden11 leave any user talk messages for Iotamikadoshi or Michael S. Margolin, nor should they leave any further messages here. There are plenty of articles on Wikipedia in need of attention, and I encourage all parties here to turn their attentions to improving some of them. —C.Fred (talk) 21:38, 13 April 2010 (UTC)Reply
Hi Celestialwarden11, do not worry about the nonsense of these satanists. Satan and suchlike supernatural beings do not exist. They are just ideas used by some people to induce fear in those who they seek to control. I have reported the incivility to administrators. Best to leave these losers alone and enjoy the company of the many decent people here, not that this is a social networking site of course.--Charles (talk) 09:20, 14 April 2010 (UTC)Reply
I did not know that this small issue would go so far. I am considering leaving Wikipedia, for at least a few months, possibly for good; all I ask is that you are more fair to other Satanists here. I realize that I should not have sent those messages, but note that it was not only I whom raised a complaint. Please, Charlesdrakew has overreacted to this issue. I shall not edit here for a long, long time, Celestialwarden11. I hope you are pleased at this outcome.
