@Rogermx: Your (double?) template does make very little sense, given the article is currently written in English (and so it has always been). Just for the record, my 2016 original version of the page here also had a selected, wikilinked English-language filmography (except for films which does not have an English title) which over a year ago the IP mentioned above by DMacks has replaced with a more complete list (even if without wikilinks and with the titles listed in their original language). It's up to you revert the IP and reinstate the old selected filmography, if this is a better solution for you. BTW I am pretty sure your template is incorrect and inappropriate for this kind of issue (as confirmed by admin DMacks above), as it is not a matter of translation (some English-language titles are actually different from the literal translations, eg. if I should translate the film title "Figli delle stelle" in English the result would be "Children of the stars", while the actual English title is Unlikely Revolutionaries). --Cavarrone 23:13, 25 October 2021 (UTC)

Hi, Cavarrone! Thank you for creating the page Vitaliano Trevisan. I hope your new year is going well so far. I have no intention of being nitpicky or overbearing or such, but I just thought I'd let you know that the Kingdom of Italy ended in 1946, therefore Trevisan, being born in 1960, would not have been born during this era. However, I have long advocated for using proper eras for different states, i.e. French Third Republic or Francoist Spain, so I find it commendable that you are on the lookout for this. In the future, I'd suggest that you pay closer attention to the time period of states' histories and can therefore correctly state what time period an individual was born in. Have a lovely 2022 and best of luck on all future edits on Wikipedia.

Hi Cavarrone. I noticed that you’re an active member of the Biography WikiProject, so I was wondering if you might be willing to take a look at some proposals I made several months ago to update the David Copperfield article. Bressanone e Ortisei

Ciao, devo segnalarti un caso. Un utente pretende di mettere nomi alle città, che stanno in Italia, come gli pare a lui infatti Ortisei e Bressanone-Brixen le avevo sistemate spostandole ai titoli corretti che corrispondono ai nomi ufficiali delle città. Puoi leggere la discussione in User talk:Ser Amantio di Nicolao#Names of towns ma quell'utente prende a pretesto una regola che ha inteso nel modo sbagliato. Io gli ho mostrato i siti ufficiali dei comuni nei quali Ortisei ha il nome solo in lingua italiana mentre Bressanone ha il nome Brixen-Bressanone quindi io avevo spostato i titoli ai nomi ufficiali, ma quello continua imperterrito nella sua elugubrazione eliminando i nomi in lingua italiana: quell'utente dev'essere fermato in qualche modo. In ogni caso noto che cercando su Google Ortisei+town vengono fuori circa 246.000 risultati, per Urtijëi +town meno di un decimo, la cosa andrebbe approfondita ma a naso direi che il nome Ortisei è un nome largamente più usato nelle fonti di lingua inglese e rispetta il WP:NCGN e il WP:WIAN molto più della oscura variante ladina (e di quella tedesca). Le linee guida dicono chiaramente "We recommend choosing a single name, by some objective criterion, even a somewhat arbitrary one. Simple Google tests are acceptable to settle the matter, despite their problems; one solution is to follow English usage where it can be determined, and to adopt the name used by the linguistic majority where English usage is indecisive": in questo caso l'uso di Ortisei mi sembra decisamente maggioritario, per cui non ha senso ricorrere al sotto-criterio di quali siano le lingue più diffuse nel luogo. Totò vs Toto

Hello, I saw that you recently reverted my redirects because Totò had deliberately been rendered as Toto, but I was wondering why this would have been. The film title in the lead spells it Totò and that is the correct version of his name so what is the rationale behind naming the article differently? Just letting you know that the file File:The Second Hundred Years (TV series).jpg was restored by an administrator named Fastily per a request I made and re-added to The Second Hundred Years (TV series). Whether the non-free use of that file, however, in that article is WP:NFCC policy compliant is unclear in addition to the possible issues with MOS:TV#Image. So, if feel you can address those concerns, it would probably be better to try and do so sooner than later since WP:NOBODYCOMPLAINED is not generally considered a valid justification for non-free use. A file with NFCC issues can fly below everyone's radar for years, but people start assessing it's use once it's been noticed for some reason. Given the time period that the series ran, there's a chance that some publicity images of the cast were released for promotional purposes. In many cases, such images can be found for sale on sites like Ebay. If you can find one that's uncropped and has no visible valid copyright notice on either the front of the photo or the back of the photo (it's important to also be able to see the back), then there's a really good chance that it would be OK to upload to Commons under a {{PD-US-no notice}}. You could then upload a non-free image of the intertitle page to use for the main infobox.

Anyway, something like this is sort of what is needed, but the Ebay seller was either clever or lucky in that they uploaded a photo they took of the photo. Since it's not just a simply 2D reproduction, there's likely the additional copyright of the photo itself that needs to be taken into account because the photo is a WP:DERIVATIVE work. You could try asking about this at c:COM:VPC, but I don't think that even a crop of it would be considered OK to upload. This one, on the other hand, is definitely more promising even though it's watermarked because the watermark was added after the fact by the company selling the photo and not by ABC. If the file is OK for Commons, someone at c:COM:GL/P could probably remove altogether or lessen the impact of the watermark.-- Marchjuly (talk) 06:02, 1 February 2023 (UTC)

File:1967 Press Photo Monte Markham, Arthur O'Connell in The Second Hundred Years.jpg was uploaded to Commons and some crops of each actor were made; so, there's no longer any real need for a non-free screenshot of the two to be used in the main infobox. If you can find a non-free image of the shows title page (maybe there's some on YouTube) or something like this, you could probably upload that as non-free content for use in the main infobox and move the cast PR photos to the body of the article. -- Marchjuly (talk) 10:44, 7 February 2023 (UTC)

Hi Cavarrone, I've added some discussion to the term giallo. Per your edit, yes the book is about Italian giallo in film and television, but the author specifically goes into terms of how complicated the genre labelling is (i.e: in Italy, any thriller/mystery is a giallo, Hitchcock films are, etc.) but in English-language terms, it has a more specific meaning for audiences.
