Proposed deletion of Crater, Mendocino County, California

edit

The article Crater, Mendocino County, California has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

No indication of notability - not a populated place (GNIS defines it as a "locale").

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. PamD 14:32, 28 May 2013 (UTC)Reply

Phoenixville

edit

If you have any sourced information about Phoenixville, please either create an article at the correct title Phoenixville, Connecticut (over-writing the existing redirect at that page) or add it to the mention of Phoenixville within Eastford, Connecticut. Please do not create articles at titles like Phoenixville, CT. (In trying to move it to the correct title while stub-sorting I discovered the existing redirect). Please note that all information added to the encyclopedia should include references to Reliable Sources. Thanks. PamD 14:40, 28 May 2013 (UTC)Reply

Southington, Connecticut and Mount Vernon

edit

Please take more care when adding links - you linked to Mount Vernon, which is a disambiguation page and does not include any place in Connecticut. I've fixed your link. You also linked to it twice in quick succession: we only link once per article, usually, with occasional multiple linking in a long article. I've unlinked the second mention. Thanks. References for Huron, Indiana

edit

Your recent contribution(s) to the Wikipedia article Huron, Indiana are very much appreciated. However, you did not provide references or sources for your information. Keeping Wikipedia accurate and verifiable is very important, and as you might be aware there is currently a drive to improve the quality of Wikipedia by encouraging editors to cite the sources they used when adding content. If sources are left unreferenced, it may count as original research, which is not allowed. Can you provide in the article specific references to any books, articles, websites or other reliable sources that will allow people to verify the content in the article? You can use a citation method listed at How to cite sources. Thanks! • Gene93k (talk) 16:08, 10 July 2013 (UTC)Reply

Fred Phelps' cause of death

edit

Hello.

I saw that you said Fred's cause of death was Heart Failure. Where did you find that? I've looked at the sources that have been provided and can't seem to find it anywhere. I am in Kansas, and none of the news stations reported of him having heart failure. If you could tell me where you got it, that would be great! if you can't, then I don't think it should be there.

Thanks,

Causes of death: unsourced and incorrect edits in multiple articles

edit

At Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Richard N. Cabela another editor has pointed out that you added information about the subject's supposed cause of death here, and that this information is not supported by any sources and (according to the AfD nominator) this information was false.

I have now found a number of other articles where you have introduced content about the subject's cause of death that was unsupported by sources, and appears to have been incorrect. Examples include Richard LaMotta [1] (your edits also stated that the subject had no children, when the cited New York Times obituary specifically mentions three children), Anthony Jackson (actor) [2], Louis Zamperini [3], Bob Hoskins [4], David Neal [5], Tommy Ramone [6], Fred Phelps [7], John Attenborough [8], and Arthur Penn [9][10].

Could you please identify your sources of information for these edits? --Arxiloxos (talk) 03:31, 27 August 2014 (UTC)Reply

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. Kosciusko, Texas

edit

This is an automated message from CorenSearchBot. I have performed a web search with the contents of Kosciusko, Texas, and it appears to include material copied directly from http://fifteenhours-creepystories.tumblr.com/post/133876030359/creepypasta-651-kosciuko-texas.

It is possible that the bot was mistaken and found similarity where none actually exists. If that is the case, you can remove the tag from the article. The article will be reviewed to determine if there are any copyright issues.

If substantial content is duplicated and it is not public domain or available under a compatible license, it will be deleted. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material. You may use such publications as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. See our copyright policy for further details. Speedy deletion nomination of Kosciusko, Texas

edit

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Kosciusko, Texas requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article or image appears to be a clear copyright infringement. This article or image appears to be a direct copy from http://fifteenhours-creepystories.tumblr.com/post/133876030359/creepypasta-651-kosciuko-texas. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites or other printed material as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

If the external website or image belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text or image — which means allowing other people to modify it — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. If you are not the owner of the external website or image but have permission from that owner, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission. You might want to look at Wikipedia's policies and guidelines for more details, or ask a question here.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Speedy deletion of "Ranch, California"

edit

Ranch, California, a page you created, has been tagged for deletion, as it meets one or more of the criteria for speedy deletion; specifically, it is nonsense or gibberish.

You are welcome to contribute content that complies with our content policies and any applicable inclusion guidelines. However, please do not simply re-create the page with the same content. You may also wish to read our introduction to editing and guide to writing your first article.

Thank you. Dcirovic (talk) 16:41, 8 May 2016 (UTC)Reply

Over the course of several years you have repeatedly been asked not to add unsourced content to articles, but you have continued to do so. You were also warned that continuing to do so might lead to being blocked from editing. I also see that "unsourced editing" is not the whole story: frequently your editing has put outright vandalism into articles. You have often, though not always, hidden such vandalism among other content, which appears to be valid, making the vandalism difficult to find. That also raises the possibility there may also be further "hidden" vandalism which has not been detected. This kind of vandalism is far more harmful to the encyclopaedia than more blatant vandalism, which is likely to be detected and reverted quickly. Considering all these facts, it seems that your editing may well be doing more harm than good to the encyclopaedia, and you have been blocked indefinitely from editing. If you think there are good reasons why you should be unblocked, you may request an unblock by adding the text {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}, but you should read the guide to appealing blocks first.
