Governors pages

Hi, I inadvertently noticed that you have some United States governors by age pages in your sandbox. Any chance of making these into articles? A very similar article already exists with List of Governors of California by age. I'm guessing you might have previously run into sourcing challenges or something. Draft pick numbers

Just curious what source you are using to determine that my order is wrong? Just would like some clarification because the source I used to determine it is here. If I'm wrong I'd like to be able to fix it. Thanks -B2Project^(Talk) 01:21, 16 June 2013 (UTC)

That source seems to be basing their draft pick numbers purely on regular season results, which is correct for teams that did not make the playoffs. However, for teams that make the playoffs, the order is as follows:

• Stanley Cup winner:30th pick
• Stanley Cup runner up: 29th pick
• Conference Finals losers: 28th and 27th picks, with the 28th pick going to the team with the better regular season record
• Remaining division winners are then sorted by points, where division winners with worse records receive better picks
• All other remaining playoff qualifiers, where teams with worse records receive better picks

So, when they have the Penguins picking 29th, they seem to have based that on the league's overall regular season standings. However, the 29th pick actually goes to the Stanley Cup runner up (which will be Boston or Chicago), which leaves Pittsburgh picking at 28, since they had a better regular season record than the West Conference Final loser Los Angeles (who will pick 27th). 2013 Stanley Cup engraving

I noticed a note was added due to the possibility of the Blackhawks petitioning to have the names of Jamal Mayers and Daniel Carcillo on the Stanley Cup. Should Ryan Stanton and Henrik Karlsson be added to this list in case the team may also petition to have their names engraved? 108.0.244.168 (talk) 08:10, 26 June 2013 (UTC)

If you feel like it. The Blackhawks can petition the league to have them engrave any player's name on the Cup, even if they only played 1 regular season or playoff game. The only rule is that player must still be under contract with the Stanley Cup winning team at the time of victory. Yes, Karlsson and Stanton were still under contract. Look at the NHL.com roster. Stanton played in 1 regular season game. Karlsson did not play in any games, but he spent much of the season on the Blackhawks roster as their third string goalie. Reasons for engraving a non-qualifying player's name

I am trying to understand the reasons a team would petition to have names of non-qualifying players engraved and their decisions. I noticed some puzzling decisions teams have made. I noticed the Lightning submitted Darren Rumble's name but did not with Shane Willis. Rumble played in 5 games and Willis played in 12. I noticed George Parros had his name engraved because the Ducks successfully petitioned. The Ducks also unsuccessfully petitioned for Mark Hartigan and Aaron Rome, but didn't even submit Tim Brent's name. Brent played in 15 games, but Hartigan played in only 7, and Rome played in only 2. I don't think there is any clear-cut reason. A team is free to submit any number of names to the league, and is free to exclude any player as the team sees fit. Canuck^{89 (what's up?)} 01:12, June 27, 2013 (UTC)

I know teams can submit the name of any player on the team, but some decisions just seem strange to me when a team doesn't submit the name of someone who plays in more games than a player who doesn't play in as many games has his name submitted. The NHL is more likely to say yes to engraving a player's name if a player plays in more games, gets injured, or doesn't spent any time in the minors the season their team wins the Stanley Cup. 108.0.244.168 (talk) 04:45, 27 June 2013 (UTC)

Date format changes - List of most career 300-yard passing games in the NFL page

Hi. Looks like the date format used was not the correct style. The dates were listed that way when I used the Provelt device to insert references. Maybe you should point this out to the powers that be so it can be addressed. I have been using the Provelt to list references ever since it came out a couple months ago. The date has always been dd/mm/yyyy since Provelt became available. If you haven't tried it, give Proveldt a shot. You will notice the date accessed comes up automatically. I have never heard of Provelt, but I would advise its creators of WP:STRONGNAT (I will sometimes patrol US-related pages and make the appropriate date changes, since dmy is not the commonly used date format in the United States).
