HI. Thank you for the feedback. I am struggling to understand the difference in some wiki pages vs this one being created. Can you give more specific feedback as to how these are different and why they would be published and not this one?
Mihail Gherasimencov
Owen Antoniuk
Gloire Amanda Canada2026 (talk) 18:05, 26 June 2023 (UTC)Reply
Hi there, came across this when I noticed the draft for Finn Linder while I went through Whitecaps 2 players. For Wiki pages they typically want multiple non-primary sources (ie. not from the team/league website) that talk about the player in a bit of detail beyond just a one-sentence sentence mention. Also players get a bit of a boost when they've played at a national top tier league (ie. Amanda and Antoniuk). Amanda has gotten a fair bit of third party coverage from winning the top college player and playing in Austria. Antoniuk got basically just enough from his move to the CPL. The Gherasimenicov one is more like this one in that it is basically majority primary sources. It will likely get moved back to draft again (it has before already) as it has the "notability" tag at the top of the page already. I tried to spruce that one up myself after I saw it in mainspace, but I didn't find any third party sources (I'm just not a user who tends to move things in and out of mainspace) and won't be surprised if its back in draft space soon. The Linder article is well written but most of the in-depth sources come from primary sources (Whitecaps) while the third party references typically just mention him in a single line in a grouping with others, so that's probably the reason it was viewed as not passing the GNG. The only one that kind of discusses him in a bit of detail in the AFTN Whitecaps 2 are back article. It probably just needs another third article that probably discusses him as the main topic (ie. even having his name in the title of the third party article). Thank you for the feedback. I assumed the World Cup would be enough but I will continue to look for articles that more directly speak about the player. 2604:3D09:1388:A000:D4F3:6B20:6A1D:1ECB (talk) 15:15, 23 July 2023 (UTC)Reply
