Perhaps a touch over the top

Hey there, I'm of the opinion that this was a little over the top. I get where you're coming from, and this isn't an official admonishment or anything, just a friendly note. I sense that the editor in question may have some social limitations, and this is the sort of thing that could provoke more of the same problematic behavior. If they haven't gotten the point by now, they'll likely wind up blocked again soon enough. There's no perfect way to navigate these situations--especially when the person refuses to participate in discussion and just shouts "Violation!" at everybody--but I'm pretty certain that a long missive like that is only going to irritate whatever feelings of isolation they already feel. Edit warring reliably sourced content

Hello. I saw you recently edited Me Before You (film). Please do not remove reliably sourced information, as you did in this edit. A film trade magazine has identified the film as being an American-British co-production, {{infobox film}} recommends. I don't know why you removed this information, but it looks like you're using original research to identify the country of origin yourself. If you disagree with the contents of a reliable source, you can raise the issue on the talk page, but please stop edit warring to remove the information sourced to it. @NinjaRobotPirate: May I please redirect you to WP:EW. Have I made over three edits/reverts in the last 24 hours? No, so don't accuse me of something I haven't done. Secondly, I did not engage in original research. A review is generally not favorable for citing the country of origin. I could easily add source stating a movie is Japanese or whatever. Thirdly, I apologize for having not read the source entirely. Metacritic would had been a better source (I did find another source stating USA) and maybe more reliable (I don't know anything about the source's reputation). I know that sometimes I come on a little strongly, but this has been a repeated issue at that article, and I'm tired of explaining to people that their original research ("it's not a British film!") does not trump a citation to a well-respected trade magazine. As far as the definition of edit warring goes, edit warring does not necessarily involve breaking 3RR. Metacritic is not a reliable source for the country of origin; it gets its data from the IMDb, which is itself not reliable. NinjaRobotPirate (talk) 23:32, 13 June 2016 (UTC)

Editing Morris Cerullo

Hello Callmemirela, I work for the Morris Cerullo Ministries and have been attempting to improve the page. You reverted edits I made in 2015, and I completely understand why you did so. Hopefully I have learned something about editing Wikipedia in a neutral way since then. I would really appreciate it if you would review my recent edits, and also take a look at my proposed revision of the Early Life section. I have edited it down and found more citations to support the content. Here is my proposed revision; I would appreciate your comments on both the text and the sourcing. I have been posting requests for others to review my work on the article talk page but no one has yet responded. I’m hoping you will take the time to review my work.

Proposed Early Life

Cerullo was born in Passaic, New Jersey to a Russo-Jewish/Italian family. His parents died in an automobile accident when he was very young. He was raised in various orphanages, the last being an Orthodox Jewish orphanage in nearby Clifton, New Jersey. He received Jesus Christ as his personal savior at age 14 with the guidance of a nurse in the Clifton, New Jersey, orphanage. Soon after, Jewish orphanage directors restricted him from practicing certain matters of his new faith, so he ran away from the orphanage. He began preaching the gospel at the age of 16, after claiming to have seen a vision from God, in which he witnessed people suffering torments in Hell. He attended and graduated from divinity school in New York state in 1953, and began ministering with the help of his then soon-to-be bride Theresa. NHL rosters

Hi, thanks for writing to me on my Talk page. I definitely understand and appreciate the need for the rules you posted. I have been updating roster pages on Wikipedia for 6 years, including the Canadiens, and so have several other people. We pride ourselves on making sure that the pages are as accurate as possible. Often this means we have updated the page before the respective webmaster of the teams, who, like us, are just regular people who might have overlooked something in a crazy-busy day like yesterday. By virtue of NHL rules, a player like Montoya MUST be on the roster unless he is waived and assigned to the minors. Therefore, regardless of the fact that the Canadiens page hadn't yet been updated, the trade announcement WAS on the referenced site, and Montoya being on the roster was factually accurate. This wasn't speculation, it's a fact based on NHL rules, and was reflected a few hours later when the Canadiens site was corrected.

Hope this makes sense, we are simply trying to help maintain Wikipedia as the most factually accurate source of information.

@FlameMoth: No, Wikipedia doesn't work like that. Wikipedia users are to follow policies first before editing. Montoya wasn't mentioned on the main source given on the template article, and you have not provided any other sources. It doesn't matter if he belongs on the roster, you disregarded WP:BURDEN and WP:OR. You are responsible to add sources for the content you've added or else it will be challenged. You did not do so and the edit was in fact unsourced until the source was updated. It doesn't matter if they've made an announcement about the signing or trade; if the player is not included in canadiens.nhl.com, then it does not belong there. I only ask that you please stop adding players that have just been signed and wait until the roster page has been updated to do so. Hi, just posted this on help desk..I'll ask you directly too though...respond here or there if you would like to:

related to this article...https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Paul_Gregory_(producer) I'm related to his nephew via marriage...the subject was basically not in contact with anyone in the family...it had been stated in the article that he died December 2015...I asked the nephew who believed this to not be true...I informed an editor involved with the article that he may be alive so it was changed back...the nephew has now informed me that he talked to the subject's attorney in California and he did in fact die in December 2015. But the guy had become a recluse etc and there was not and will not be an obituary published anywhere...it was recently changed to listing his death but then reverted back for not being sourced...it will likely be unsourceable for years or even forever...unless some writer/journalist writes something about 'the night of the hunter' in the future and specifically refers to him having died etc....anyway, what can be done here??68.48.241.158 (talk) 02:19, 10 July 2016 (UTC)

@68.48.241.158: It's not a matter of you editing the article or not. You stated that you've spoken to the Paul's relatives or such and you claim to be related to their nephew. We have no way to verify this. I am just saying that you can't use yourself as a source. To say that you are related to them and are claiming something is still considered original content. Hi again. I thought I better check since the recent changes to Wikipedia:Notifications might have changed things. The "mentions" section of Wikipedia:Notifications#Triggering events still states that "an IP cannot be notified by any templates or links" If I see that an IP has not responded to a conversation after a day or so I usually go and leave a message on their talk page. Underscores

Hello, Callmemirela! I noticed your incidental question on AN/I, and since the discussion is closed, and it’s off-topic anyway, I thought I’d try and answer here. Enclosing a word or phrase in underscores is a pretty common convention to indicate emphasis or italicization in plain-text environments (for example on Usenet, or when using an old-fashioned e-mail client); it probably originates from the pre-digital practice of using underlining in typescripts for the same purpose. (Imagine the underscore characters as marking the beginning and end of a continuous line.) For titles and such comprising multiple words, most people just put one at each end, as in _A Tale of Two Cities_, but some substitute underscores for the intermediate spaces as well, as in _A_Tale_of_Two_Cities_. I don‘t know why anyone would do it here, considering that pairs of vertical quotes in wikicode easily produce ‘real’ italics, but I guess it‘s done out of habit.—Odysseus1479 20:12, 7 August 2016 (UTC)
