Block notices edit

Please do not add block notices to userpages. You do not have the ability to block users, and placing the templates does not block them. 1, 2, 3, 4. In some of these examples, administrators had already placed the templates. This could be considered Disruptive Editing Happy Editing--IAmChaos 16:02, 8 April 2022 (UTC)Reply

I came here to say the same thing. Only administrators have any business placing block notices. Please refrain from doing so. Thank you, HJ Mitchell | Penny for your thoughts? 17:31, 8 April 2022 (UTC)Reply
OK. I will not do that anymore.

About the time in your signature edit

Noticed that you are changing the timestamp in your signature to GMT+1 variant manually. I suggest not doing that as it messes up certain functionalities, like the new Discussion Tools features and Comments in Local Time gadget. If you want to display the timestamp in your local time (just for you), you can enable the Comments in Local Time gadget in your Preferences settings: Preferences > Gadgets > Appearance > Change UTC-based times and dates, such as those used in signatures, to be relative to local time. – robertsky (talk) 19:43, 15 April 2022 (UTC)Reply

Came here to say the same thing except it's not a suggestion. It's a requirement. We rely on the consistent timestamp format to let software tell how many comments there are and where they end. Nardog (talk) 22:30, 15 April 2022 (UTC)Reply

Deny edit

Hey! I noticed that you opposed a troll proposal from a now-blocked user after the user was blocked. I'd suggest you refrain from doing so in the future per WP:DENY. Replying to the post after they are blocked is just giving them the attention we want to starve them of. ― Blaze WolfTalkBlaze Wolf#6545 14:09, 20 April 2022 (UTC)Reply

OK. I will not do that again anymore. I will leave proposals from blocked users alone without editing. - CafeGurrier66 (talkcontribs) 14:11, 20 April 2022 (UTC)Reply

Alright sounds good. Usually if the user is blocked, someone will come along and close the proposal to prevent any further discussion, or just leave it and let it get archived. ― Blaze WolfTalkBlaze Wolf#6545 14:15, 20 April 2022 (UTC)Reply

Your thread has been archived edit

Hi CafeGurrier66! The thread you created at the Wikipedia:Teahouse, About languages, has been archived because there was no discussion for a few days.

You can still read the archived discussion. If you have follow-up questions, please create a new thread.

See also the help page about the archival process. The archival was done by Lowercase sigmabot III, and this notification was delivered by Muninnbot, both automated accounts. You can opt out of future notifications by placing {{bots|deny=Muninnbot}} on top of the current page (your user talk page). Muninnbot (talk) 19:02, 22 April 2022 (UTC)Reply

That's not a problem, I have already known about this topic. - CafeGurrier66 (talkcontribs) 19:04, 22 April 2022 (UTC)Reply

Browservice moved to draftspace edit

Hi, CafeGurrier. I've moved Browservice to draftspace because I believe that, in its current form, it is very unlikely to survive a deletion discussion. I would strongly encourage you to spend some more time expanding it and finding significant coverage in reliable sources independent of the subject, if there is any. If there isn't any, the topic may not (yet) be ready to be an article. You may also want to check out Help:Your first article. Writing an article is no small thing—I didn't write my first till I'd been editing for a year!—and even writing a stub right takes more than just one sentence and one reference. I hope that, by moving this to draftspace, I've bought you some time to read up on relevant guidelines and advice.

If you disagree with this decision and think that it's ready for mainspace as-is, that's fine. You're welcome to revert my move, or to ask me to revert it myself. Just understand that I would then have to start a deletion discussion.

Happy editing, and please let me know if you have any questions. -- Tamzin[cetacean needed] (she/they) 05:46, 23 April 2022 (UTC)Reply

Post-move message close edit

Hi CafeGurrier66, I noticed that you closed a proposal regarding making the post-move message more concise with a rationale of Already changed. I'm a bit confused; it doesn't look like the change is already implemented :) Could you explain some of your reasoning? Thanks! 🐶 EpicPupper (he/him | talk) 19:31, 24 April 2022 (UTC)Reply

I moved User:CafeGurrier66/common.js to User:CafeGurrier66/common.css and I seen the updated post-move message. - CafeGurrier66 (talkcontribs) 15:42, 25 April 2022 (UTC)Reply

Hi, sorry, but I can’t reproduce this. MediaWiki:Movepage-moved seems to not have been updated since 2020, so it doesn’t look like it was changed. Sorry! I’m going to revert the close to allow for more discussion, especially as I added a mention of the Wikibase mention to the proposal. Cheers, 🐶 EpicPupper (he/him | talk) 19:59, 25 April 2022 (UTC)Reply

Ok. - CafeGurrier66 (talkcontribs) 07:57, 26 April 2022 (UTC)Reply

Please refocus edit

I see several notices above about you trying to do things that aren't really appropriate for a new editor to try to do. Please don't close discussions, mess with blocked users' talk pages, try to police admins' frequency of editing, or any other things that you are too inexperienced to deal with. In particular, a lot of times the next step I've seen in cases like this is trying to give advice to new editors. I'm proactively saying you are too inexperienced to do that either. After a while, the cycle of you doing something over your head, being told to stop, you say OK, and then do some other thing over your head gets exhausting, and we end up blocking the user. Find your bearings first. Ask for a Mentor. Find a Wikiproject on a subject that interests you, and ask at their talk page how you can help. Fix spelling errors. Read your welcome message again, and follow the link to the Task Center and look at the tasks marked "all editors" to see areas you can feel useful. There are lots of ways a new editor can help. But diving into the administrative areas is not helping. --Floquenbeam (talk) 20:43, 25 April 2022 (UTC)Reply

I will stop. - CafeGurrier66 (talkcontribs) 07:56, 26 April 2022 (UTC)Reply

You haven't stopped. You shouldn't be archiving discussions at Wikipedia:Village pump (proposals). This is your final warning.--Bbb23 (talk) 22:37, 27 April 2022 (UTC)Reply

I will only archive my own talk page as bots normally archive that page. - CafeGurrier66 (talkcontribs) 09:59, 28 April 2022 (UTC)Reply

‎Make New Vector the default skin edit

Hello! Thank you for making that proposal. I'm glad that you like Vector 2022. We will be talking to the English Wikipedia community about making it default within the next months. Before that, we need to work with smaller groups of users and finish the tasks we have planned. Table of contents is being improved and tested on our pilot wikis, and Page tools are not ready yet.

If you would like to do something now, give your opinion on the latest prototype, subscribe to our newsletter, contact us and report bugs and imperfections, and join meetings with us (there are two tomorrow) if you'd like to talk. You can also poke others to do the same and promote our interface on social media, especially the Wikimedia-related chats and groups.

Thanks! SGrabarczuk (WMF) (talk) 11:42, 28 April 2022 (UTC)Reply

OK I understand. - CafeGurrier66 (talkcontribs) 14:08, 28 April 2022 (UTC)Reply

April 2022 edit

You have been blocked indefinitely from editing for persistently making disruptive edits.
If you think there are good reasons for being unblocked, please read the guide to appealing blocks, then add the following text below the block notice on your talk page: {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}.  Bbb23 (talk) 12:47, 29 April 2022 (UTC)Reply

This user's unblock request has been reviewed by an administrator, who declined the request. Other administrators may also review this block, but should not override the decision without good reason (see the blocking policy).

Request reason:

I did not read the rules and I did not even known that it was a mistake. I promise I will stop disruptive edits and be cooperative. Additionally, this block might be a mistake but I want to be unblocked because everything was a mistake. I want to be unblocked as I will stop my disruptive edits. - CafeGurrier66 (talkcontribs) 14:37, 29 April 2022 (UTC)Reply

Decline reason:

Pretty clear you haven't the slightest intention of stopping, judging from your past behaviour and your behaviour here, including threats. Yamla (talk) 19:10, 29 April 2022 (UTC)Reply

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

Since I gave something of a final warning above, I won't decline this myself. But I will note for the reviewing admin that after every single warning to stop doing a particular disruptive thing, they (a) promise to stop being disruptive, and (b) simply move on to another disruptive thing. Someone who is completely unable to identify what is disruptive and what isn't should not be editing here, whether it is trolling or lack of competence is largely irrelevant. --Floquenbeam (talk) 15:50, 29 April 2022 (UTC)Reply
Unblock me, I will not move to antother disruptive edit. - CafeGurrier66 (talkcontribs) 15:55, 29 April 2022 (UTC)Reply
You already said that. And afterwards you made more disruptive edits. --Floquenbeam (talk) 16:03, 29 April 2022 (UTC)Reply
I will really stop, don't make me angry. - CafeGurrier66 (talkcontribs) 16:05, 29 April 2022 (UTC)Reply
Every time you were told to stop making disruptive edits, you said you would stop, and then immediately made more disruptive edits. - Donald Albury 23:49, 29 April 2022 (UTC)Reply

Concern regarding Draft:Browservice edit

Hello, CafeGurrier66. This is a bot-delivered message letting you know that Draft:Browservice, a page you created, has not been edited in at least 5 months. Drafts that have not been edited for six months may be deleted, so if you wish to retain the page, please edit it again or request that it be moved to your userspace.

Your draft article, Draft:Browservice edit

Hello, CafeGurrier66. It has been over six months since you last edited the Articles for Creation submission or Draft page you started, "Browservice".

In accordance with our policy that Wikipedia is not for the indefinite hosting of material deemed unsuitable for the encyclopedia mainspace, the draft has been deleted. If you plan on working on it further and you wish to retrieve it, you can request its undeletion. An administrator will, in most cases, restore the submission so you can continue to work on it.

Thanks for your submission to Wikipedia, and happy editing. Liz Read! Talk! 16:43, 30 October 2022 (UTC)Reply
