License tagging for Image:Transformers Soundtrack (2007).jpg edit

Thanks for uploading Image:Transformers Soundtrack (2007).jpg. Wikipedia gets thousands of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

This is an automated notice by OrphanBot. If you need help on selecting a tag to use, or in adding the tag to the image description, feel free to post a message at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. 12:12, 27 September 2007 (UTC)

Helpme request edit

What do you want help with? Place {{helpme}} back up here (this page, which your talk page) with your question. --ais523 11:04, 8 November 2007 (UTC)

Hey thanks anyway, I have already placed my question on the Help Desk. Could you please help?

I was just answering the question on the Help Desk when you sent me your message. The answer's there, now, anyway. --ais523 11:20, 8 November 2007 (UTC)
I'm not sure; the best information I could find was at m:Multimedia/Help:Adding sounds, which appears to be outdated and incomplete, and offsite at http://www.xiph.org. You may get a better answer by asking again at the Help Desk in the hope that someone else who knows will come across the question and answer it. --ais523 11:26, 8 November 2007 (UTC)

Editing a category edit

I have noticed several categories that have missing pages from them, ie. there are pages relevant to a particular category that are missing from the actual category. How do I add a page to a category so that all relevant pages are grouped together? --Bugalugs13 (talk) 14:08, 23 November 2007 (UTC)Reply

To add a page to a category, you should edit the last section in that article by clicking the small [edit] link to the right of the header. Then link to the category as you would another article, like this: [[Category:Example]]. I hope this helps! For future reference, though, please place the helpme template on this page, your user talk page, when asking a question. This makes things much easier for us helpers and reduces the chances of us missing the question completely. Hersfold (t/a/c) 14:53, 23 November 2007 (UTC)Reply

Indestructible (song) edit

A proposed deletion template has been added to the article Indestructible (song), suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but this article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice should explain why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page. Also, please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. If you agree with the deletion of the article, and you are the only person who has made substantial edits to the page, please add {{db-author}} to the top of Indestructible (song). Orphaned non-free media (Image:Disturbed indestructible.jpg) edit

Thanks for uploading Image:Disturbed indestructible.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. NotifyBot (talk) 15:17, 17 April 2008 (UTC)Reply

References edit

{{helpme}} I need a bit of help putting references in an article I'm creating. Like, for example, what coding do I use? How do I add the same reference more than once?

Commercial use of Image:Lagrima logo.jpg edit

Hello, this is a message from an automated bot. A tag has been placed on Image:Lagrima logo.jpg, by another Wikipedia user, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. The tag claims that it should be speedily deleted because Image:Lagrima logo.jpg has a copyright license type implying some type of restricted use, such as for non-commercial use only, or for educational use only or for use on Wikipedia by permission, which was either uploaded on or after 2005-05-19 or is not used in any articles (CSD I3). While it might seem reasonable to assume that such files can be freely used on Wikipedia, this is in fact not the case[1][2]. Please do not upload any more files with these restrictions on them, because content on Wikipedia needs to be compatible with the GNU Free Documentation License, which allows anyone to use it for any purpose, commercial or non-commercial. See our non-free content guidelines for more more information.

If you created this media file and want to use it on Wikipedia, you may re-upload it (or amend the image description if it has not yet been deleted) and use the license {{GFDL-self}} to license it under the GFDL, or {{cc-by-sa-2.5}} to license it under the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike license, or use {{PD-self}} to release it into the public domain.

If you did not create this media file but want to use it on Wikipedia, there are two ways to proceed. First, you may choose one of the fair use tags from this list if you believe one of those fair use rationales applies to this file. Second, you may want to contact the copyright holder and request that they make the media available under a free license.

If the article has already been deleted, see the advice and instructions at WP:WMD. This bot is only informing you of the nomination for speedy deletion, it did not nominate Image:Lagrima logo.jpg itself. Feel free to leave a message on the bot operator's talk page if you have any questions about this or any problems with this bot. If you have any questions about what to do next or why your image was nominated for speedy deletion please ask at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. Thanks. Indestructible submitted for speedy deletion edit

Speedy deletion of Indestructible (song) edit

A tag has been placed on Indestructible (song), requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done for the following reason:

the article already exists here, under a different name

Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not meet basic Wikipedia criteria may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as an appropriate article, and if you can indicate why the subject of this article is appropriate, you may contest the tagging. To do this, add {{hangon}} on the top of the page and leave a note on the article's talk page explaining your position. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would confirm its subject's notability under the guidelines.

For guidelines on specific types of articles, you may want to check out our criteria for biographies, for web sites, for bands, or for companies. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. dude527 (talk) 07:21, 12 July 2008 (UTC)Reply

Sure edit

What exactly did you have in mind for chatting? dude527 (talk) 05:05, 15 July 2008 (UTC)Reply

Alright, cool. Well, my favorite band is Korn, this is because the first concert I ever went to was a Korn concert, and when I fell into deep depression, they helped me not kill myself. For my second favorite, Disturbed is tied with someone else. I forget their name at the moment (lol), but I also have my own Disturbed fan website, and I work on that every day. Working on getting a domain right now. I should also say, despite all the rock music I listen to, I am a devout Christian. Oh, and as for the computer nerd stuff, I just go on in my free time. During the school year, I'm either at school, sleeping, playing a sport, or eating. That usually means no computer for me, but in the summer I have so much free time to use, and of course it's summer right now. dude527 (talk) 19:19, 16 July 2008 (UTC)Reply
I prefer to keep my personal information personal. It's not even safe to tell you through this, simply because of the edit history. If you can find a way where none of my information will be given, sure. dude527 (talk) 00:18, 17 July 2008 (UTC)Reply

Dear Bugalugs 13 editing help for biography edit

Thank you for reading the biography that I wrote. Yes, I have all references. Most of the ones I put in brackets are already in Wikipedia. Others are on normal scientific websites.

Do you see other editing or writing improvements to be made?

Would you recommend that I put the article onto Wikipedia?

Thank you and kind regards,

Proposed deletion of Lamb of God's fifth studio album edit

A proposed deletion template has been added to the article Lamb of God's fifth studio album, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised because even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. Blacklisted reference? edit

{{helpme}} I have just created the article Lamb of God's fifth studio album, however the only reference I have is apparently "blacklisted" and would not allow me to add it as a reference. There is now a proposed deletion for the article, due to lack of references. What should I do? It's the weird one! / Chat to me? 13:00, 15 August 2008 (UTC)Reply

What is your reference? If you separate the link like this: en DOT wikipedia DOT com , it shouldn't get picked up by the blacklister because it's not "live". However, looking at your article, I am inclined to agree with the proposal, since there's not really enough information here to give us a reliable article. Wikipedia doesn't predict the future, and we only have articles on future events where there are enough reliable sources to tell us about them. MySpace is not considered a reliable source, and is also in violation of our external links policy. In order for the article to stay and meet our inclusion criteria, you'll need several reliable references, such as from news sites, music reviewers, and so on, that are not directly related to Lamb of God or Wikipedia. Your RfA edit

I highly recommend you withdraw your nomination or request its closure per WP:NOTNOW. It is unlikely to pass because you have only 250 or so edits; typically, editors have 2-3000 edits before establishing themselves well enough to be evaluated broadly. This is not a criticism of your contributions; just a recommendation that it would be better to wait.  Frank  |  talk  13:48, 15 August 2008 (UTC)Reply

As Frank said, do not think this as a criticism of your contributions. I would advise you to consider adoption to learn more and to allow you to gain more experience within the community related areas. Also, you might want to read WP:ES as Frank also pointed out in the RfA. Please continue to contribute to Wikipedia, despite this setback. Also, as macy wanted to post to the RfA but undid because it was closed already, you might want to consider asking for rollback to fight vandalism. But that might need more experience as well. Regards SoWhy review me! 14:06, 15 August 2008 (UTC)Reply

AfD nomination of Lamb of God's fifth studio album edit

I have nominated Lamb of God's fifth studio album, an article you created, for deletion. I do not feel that this article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and have explained why at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Lamb of God's fifth studio album. Your opinions on the matter are welcome at that same discussion page; also, you are welcome to edit the article to address these concerns. Thank you for your time. Do you want to opt out of receiving this notice? Sceptre (talk) 15:10, 17 August 2008 (UTC)Reply

Fair use rationale for File:Lagrima logo1.jpg edit

Thanks for uploading or contributing to File:Lagrima logo1.jpg. I notice the file page specifies that the file is being used under fair use but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia constitutes fair use. Please go to the file description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. MBisanz talk 01:41, 15 July 2009 (UTC)Reply

ArbCom elections are now open! edit

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
