The nature of your edits gives the impression you have an undisclosed financial stake in promoting a topic, but you have not complied with Wikipedia's mandatory paid editing disclosure requirements. Ah, I see. I am not being paid for the creation of this article, but I do work for a non-profit of which Stephen Smith is a Board Member. That said, he does seem to meet the criteria for inclusion in terms of people otherwise covered on Wikipedia - several articles that pre-existed this bio reference him (First National, Queens University, Stephen Smith School of Business).

I did not know about the "Articles for Creation" process (I saw only the "Publish this page" button), so perhaps that is the better approach for me on this one. Am I able to resubmit this piece through that process?

I do understand that. I just want to check though - this article that I have uploaded to Wikipedia was written from scratch, with independent sources all linked in the citations - it has 2 citations to The Canadian Encyclopedia (which is a reliable non-partisan source for information), but all else is from other places. We ran this article through a plagiarism checker online to ensure that it was not going to be considered a copy and it came back clean - is my connection going to make this article impossible to create?

I created a bio for a member of my board of directors - I did not know I needed to disclose a conflict of interest (my apologies), but have since done so. The bio is in keeping with the tone of other bios on Wikipedia, is about a person who meets the criteria of inclusion based on other bios included on the site (he is referenced in a number of other articles that pre-existed this bio).

Other than this bio, my edits have been to update articles about our programs and to correct errors of fact - not to boast, but to make corrections to claims like "Heritage Minutes used to be called "Moments in Time"", which was never true.
