Bishop of Meath and Kildare

Hi! Just to let you know I have reverted your edit to Pat Storey. For some reason, most likely historical, the Bishop of Meath and Kildare is styled the The Most Reverend. I did wonder whether that was the case. Then I saw this, from the Irish Times, which I assumed was correct. Might I suggest that, if there is an anomaly with this title, it is mentioned, with an apprpriate citation, in the article? Brianboulton (talk) 21:52, 2 June 2015 (UTC)

I see, with what enthusiasm you can imagine, there is a Monteverdi Festival in Venice coming on in November, and it includes what is billed as the world première of the reconstructed L'Arianna concocted by one Claudio Cavina. I don't know if this musicological grave-robbery is interesting enough to be mentioned in the article; I merely mention it, leave the matter in your hands, and beat a strategic retreat, whistling tunes from The Gondoliers – Tim riley talk 14:42, 5 June 2015 (UTC)

Yes, and for a mere £2,950 you could be there! Cavina is quite well known in what might be termed Monteverdi circles – or what you might term the circles of hell - and has a reputation for putting some lead into old Claudio's pencil. He has contrived his Arianna with "a mixture of scholarly speculation and artistic insight", according to the blurb I've received. Of that there can be no possible doubt whatever. Tom Simpson

Hi Brian, it's been a year and a half since your peer review of Tom Simpson. I put it up for FAC a month ago, with only two support's. I'll be disappointed if it doesn't pass due to the lack of interest. Can you tell what it's chances are and if there's any thing else I can do? I'm a noob at this, so just need some advice please. I said I found the reduction of race detail hard, but have been trying my best. The small additions since the copy edit by WP:GOCE may need a check. BaldBoris 11:49, 7 June 2015 (UTC)

Any chance you could take a look?

I've recently rewritten The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes, and have started a peer review for it: Wikipedia:Peer review/The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes/archive1. I'm not particularly seeking a detailed prose review (though I appreciate that it will need one) but at this stage some advice on the shape the article should take. As something of a summary article for the collection, I had originally thought this would end up as a FL, but as I wrote it, it seems to have started to become more of an "article". However, I'm wary about going into too much detail on aspects that should be included in the article for the individual stories, so I was hoping that if you had a chance you could take a look and let me know your thoughts on the broad strokes of the article. Any advice you could give would be greatly appreciated, particularly as I would like to similarly improve the articles for the other short story collections. Harrias ^talk 17:06, 12 June 2015 (UTC)

Not clear from the sources, but I presume they were putting the finishing touches to it when Pandora arrived. (As an extra bit of cheek they called the schooner Resolution, after Cook's ship!) Brianboulton (talk) 08:54, 13 June 2015 (UTC)

Crisco's style of copying the whole lead hasn't caused any problems, there's an inconsistency issue, and it's less work for me if I don't have to copy the lead in. (Btw guys, on another topic entirely, I'm going to keep an eye out for great writing over at GAN and invite guest co-writers maybe twice a month. I'll copyedit, of course. I can see you're currently scheduling July—could I politely ask you not to schedule a painting articles towards the end of the month if possible? Assuming Preparing for a Fancy Dress Ball passes FAC in time (it should–currently on 6 supports and no opposes, including supports from a number of big hitters, with over a month to go), I'd like it to run on 1 August to coincide with the reopening of the York Art Gallery where Fancy Dress Ball is currently housed, along with three of the other paintings illustrated in the article. It was very kind of Gary to include two of my recent efforts in the blog, and he summarised their content perfectly. The concept is excellent – people will get a pretty good idea of the range and variety of Wikipedia's articles, and I hope they will add their comments.
