Managing a conflict of interest

edit

  Hello, Bluewoodpecker. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about on Wikipedia, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a conflict of interest may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for organizations for more information. We ask that you:

  • avoid editing or creating articles about yourself, your family, friends, colleagues, company, organization or competitors;
  • propose changes on the talk pages of affected articles (you can use the {{request edit}} template);
  • disclose your conflict of interest when discussing affected articles (see Wikipedia:Conflict of interest#How to disclose a COI);
  • avoid linking to your organization's website in other articles (see WP:Spam);
  • do your best to comply with Wikipedia's content policies.

In addition, you are required by the Wikimedia Foundation's terms of use to disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution which forms all or part of work for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation. See Wikipedia:Paid-contribution disclosure.

Also, editing for the purpose of advertising, publicising, or promoting anyone or anything is not permitted. Thank you. --- Possibly (talk) 06:28, 7 May 2021 (UTC)Reply

Hello @Possibly: and @Theroadislong:, thanks for your input. I've spent time reading the 'conflict of interest guideline and really appreciate you sharing that with me. I don't have any conflicts, so I was really shocked to see the tag placed on my article as a new contributor. Further, I made edits and added references as suggested by @Theroadislong. It would be great if you could let me know where on this article you think improvements could be made.
As there are still gaps on the wiki environment on many various ASX listed companies (something which is my sincere interest) I'll make sure all my contributions are fair and objective and in accordance with the guidelines.Bluewoodpecker (talk) 06:27, 8 May 2021 (UTC)Reply

Whitehaven Coal Limited moved to draftspace

edit

An article you recently created, Whitehaven Coal Limited, is not suitable as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page.
