Sources, copyright, MOS, etc. edit

Please take the time to look at some of those pages about Wikipedia policy, the manual of style, etc. Note that Wikipedia articles should cite sources for the information your provided (your edits removed a bunch of references), we cannot republish content from copyrighted sources, and there is a style of writing and formatting that we are supposed to follow.

Your edits appear to contain some updated information, but they were reverted because they were unsupported by references (but appeared to be copied from somewhere else) and they destroyed a lot of properly sourced and formatted content. If you can cite sources for your information, please come back and update the article, with references for your information. However, I must insist that you stop replacing the entire article with your content -- if you do that again, you can expect to be reverted again. --Orlady (talk) 04:04, 9 July 2013 (UTC)Reply

Help edit

Hi, Orlady! Thank you for the information on editing. I am an employee of Tractor Supply Co., and I am trying to update/correct this Wikipedia page. Most of the information currently listed is outdated or inaccurate. Yesterday, I attempted to make some changes, but did not replace the entire page. Yet, this morning, my changes have been removed. I apologize, but I am having a difficult time understanding the guidelines for editing. Can you please help me with these updates so that information on this page is accurate? Thank you! Beth, the issues are a need for sources and a need to maintain an encyclopedic tone. I believe you have access to current data on number of stores, sales volume, etc., that would be great to have in the article. If you can identify published sources for these numbers, then we can start to update the article. The page Talk:Tractor Supply Company would be a good place to discuss the current information and you have and how to incorporate it into the article (which definitely needs to be updated and expanded). --Orlady (talk) 14:11, 16 July 2013 (UTC)Reply
