I am creating a talk page for my class. What are some designers with really good wikipedia pages?BessWilliamson (talk) 17:45, 8 September 2021 (UTC)Reply

The page for Frank Lloyd Wright is very complete and deals even-handedly with his personal life dramas along with his prominence as a designer. Check out the Talk page to see ongoing discussions such as some discrepancies about when he was born. BessWilliamson (talk) 18:16, 8 September 2021 (UTC)Reply
In case you need help finding designer articles, Category:Designers has lots of subcategories to choose from. -- Fyrael (talk) 19:05, 8 September 2021 (UTC)Reply
In addition to Fyrael's good link, here's the Women in Red list for women in graphic design who might need articles. Penny Richards (talk) 14:20, 30 September 2021 (UTC)Reply
thanks for these recs! Hi Penny! BessWilliamson (talk) 14:29, 30 September 2021 (UTC)Reply

Welcome! edit

Always happy to see a familiar face on Wikipedia. (Spotted you when you tagged the talk page for Elton Fax; he's on my watchlist after I started that article years ago.) Holler if you need anything! I'm usually at WP:WikiProject Women in Red or WP:WikiProject Disability most days, and there are helpful friendly folks in both places. - Penny Richards (talk) 14:16, 30 September 2021 (UTC)Reply

Willy Chavarria edits by one of your students edit

Hi Bess!! I noticed that one of your students has been working very hard on Willy Chavarria but there are issues with their work. Before they started editing, the article looked like this - a little rough, but correctly cited and formatted as a stub/start level article. The article, as it currently stands, contains extra information but is now in a bit of a state with every single citation having been taken out, and currently no inline cites at all, which is an issue for a Biography of a Living Person, so I just wanted to check in that this will be fixed in due course after the student's work has been assessed.

I would have reverted the edits immediately to the 30 September 2021 version, and left a heads-up to the editor, but when I realised it was a student editing as part of an ongoing course, I thought it better to contact their course leader directly to make sure that you will address this as you see fit. All the best, Mabalu (talk) 20:58, 7 January 2022 (UTC)Reply

thanks for this comment Mabalu. I included this feedback as part of the student's grade, but it appears that they did not take my suggestion to include the past citations. We understand when doing these project that edits may be reverted and I would suggest doing so in this case. thank you and sorry this page ended up bearing the brunt of a student project not following the instructions.BessWilliamson (talk) 16:59, 6 February 2022 (UTC)Reply

Rollback done, thanks - it's a shame because there is some good stuff there, it just needed to be cited. Mabalu (talk) 17:44, 10 February 2022 (UTC)Reply
