Hello, I'm Nythar. Wikipedia is written by people who have a wide diversity of opinions, but we try hard to make sure articles have a neutral point of view. Your recent edit to Lee Strobel seemed less than neutral and has been removed. If you think this was a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. Noted, Nythar. Thanks Benjaminfoo (talk) 13:31, 19 April 2023 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion nomination of User:Benjaminfoo

edit

Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. A tag has been placed on User:Benjaminfoo requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section U5 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to consist of writings, information, discussions, or activities not closely related to Wikipedia's goals. Please note that Wikipedia is not a free web hosting service. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such pages may be deleted at any time.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here. While I have done some edits, I am fairly new to wikipedia. So, I am not sure what this is about, what it means or what I need to do? I have not created any information on my user page. Appreciate if anyone can enlighten me. @Chongkian can you please help me understand? Benjaminfoo (talk) 14:34, 24 April 2023 (UTC)Reply
May I know what did you write before this at that User:Benjaminfoo page? Because I don't have the authority to retrieve it. But based on my experience, those users whose user page got speedy-deleted, it was mostly due to either: writing too much information about themselves, writing personal information about themselves, or writing about themselves in a promotional way (e.g. something like personal social media or personal website). The userpage should only be used to mostly write about your editing contribution to Wikipedia, such as articles you have edited or written, what WikiProject you belong to (which roughly shows what topic area of interests you belong to in Wikipedia), any shortcut to any Wikipedia page you wish to have for easy access etc. Chongkian (talk) 14:40, 24 April 2023 (UTC)Reply
I didn't write anything about myself. But I recall wanting to write a new article not in wikipedia. So, I started drafting it late at night and thought I coukd save it by publishing then later add on before moving it to mainspace. I thought that was the process that I used when I did my 1st article, save by publishing, then move it to mainsoace when ready. Did I do this process on the wrong page? I am still finding my way on how to navigate and I use my mobile phone to do so. And the notification mean they deleted what I assumed to be my draft for my article visible only to me? Thanks. Benjaminfoo (talk) 15:09, 24 April 2023 (UTC)Reply
Oh, if you want to write a draft article (before publishing it), you should do it on your sandbox page, not on your userpage. Userpage is solely for your identification page as Wikipedia editor like I wrote before this in my previous reply. Your sandbox page is located here: User:Benjaminfoo/sandbox. Once you have fully written it (try to make it at least start-class article, with all of the paragraphs, infobox, references nicely written, then only you move it to the mainspace (if you are autoconfirmed user already), or u submit for review before being ok-ed to be published by new-article-reviewer admins. Chongkian (talk) 15:26, 24 April 2023 (UTC)Reply
Ah yes. Forgot it has to have "sandbox" on the page not just user:myname! Thanks. Benjaminfoo (talk) 16:28, 24 April 2023 (UTC)Reply
Your sandbox is currently redirected to Evangelical Free Church of Singapore. I will undo that by typing something in your sandbox, then from there you can proceed to test any article you wish to write. Chongkian (talk) 00:13, 25 April 2023 (UTC)Reply
Thanks Chongkian. Not sure what it means tothat it is redirected to that article. Whst did I do incorrectly when move the articke to mainspace... to avoid same mistake? Thanks. Benjaminfoo (talk) 03:32, 25 April 2023 (UTC)Reply
From the edit summary in your sandbox page ([1]), I saw it was written Benjaminfoo moved page User:Benjaminfoo/sandbox to Evangelical Free Church of Singapore: Publish page to mainspace. It means you moved the article to the mainspace. By right, you should fully retype the whole article again in the mainspace, or copy+paste it from your sandbox page to mainspace, then only publish it. Then finally you blank your sandbox page again. Chongkian (talk) 04:24, 25 April 2023 (UTC)Reply
Thanks. Will have to learn more to figure it out. Benjaminfoo (talk) 04:37, 25 April 2023 (UTC)Reply

Hello! Voting in the 2023 Arbitration Committee elections is now open until 23:59 (UTC) on Monday, 11 December 2023. All eligible users are allowed to vote. Users with alternate accounts may only vote once.

The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.

If you wish to participate in the 2023 election, please review the candidates and submit your choices on the voting page. If you no longer wish to receive these messages, you may add {{NoACEMM}} to your user talk page. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 00:54, 28 November 2023 (UTC)Reply
