I note that both you and BabiesInc have worked on Draft:Borderline (artwork). Are you the same person? If so, you would do best to choose a single username to work with. WikiDan61ChatMe!ReadMe!! 17:06, 30 October 2023 (UTC)Reply

Proposed deletion of Telephone (artwork)

edit

The article Telephone (artwork) has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

The three sources (which seem to use the same text anyway) only mention the telephone, no indication that it is actually a notable work of art

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Please stop adding statistics from ArtFacts

edit

While your interest and efforts on WP in relation to the visual arts are appreciated, I have to ask that you please stop adding statistics sourced to ArtFacts to articles. There are several reasons for that. Firstly, statistics like this change from week to week, month to month and year to year. There is no way for our volunteer editors to keep up with these changes, which are a form of WP:RECENTISM and should be avoided. In a nutshell, Recentism is "an inflated or imbalanced focus on recent events. It is writing without an aim toward a long-term, historical view." Because WP is an encylopedia, we take the long term historical view on how an artist is perceived and represented in reliable sources. Secondly, ArtFacts is a database, it is not journalism nor scholarly art history. It simply aggregates information. Please stop adding these ArtFact stats ever-fluctuating "statistics" to articles. Additionally, you are not formatting citations properly, please see Wikipedia:Citing sources for more information. Thank you. Netherzone (talk) 15:14, 23 February 2024 (UTC)Reply

OK, I see what you mean. But couldn't there be made an argument to include the ranking number in the artist infobox much like for example a sports ranking which also is variable?— Preceding unsigned comment added by BabiesCon (talkcontribs)
No, for the same reasons stated above, and it is not encyclopedic, nor stable, nor reliable. Netherzone (talk) 13:55, 28 February 2024 (UTC)Reply
