Of the three major criteria for Wikipedia entry,

  • notable
  • independent
  • reliable

I'd like to establish the notable attribute first.

This article just in:

   [1]

which should also add to the reliable and independent criteria.

In my judgement, William J. McGowan is a notable biography page because

  • of the roughly 1500 names of MIA on the wall at the Normandy American Cemetery, he is one of few than 20 who've been moved to the KIA status
  • that his remains were identified 74 - 75 years after his death is remarkable in it's own right, and
  • there was no published history of his deed for 75 years.

I've withheld updating the draft page with the reference until we can resolve "notability".

Thank you,

Thanks for the [1] reference; I knew it was out there, having seen it last summer, it looks like the day after my original effort. I'm retrieving it now.
