WikiProject query

edit

Hi, just wanted to run something by you as I noticed you are a somewhat frequent editor of the Mark Knopfler article. Do you think there would be any interest or need for creating a WikiProject Guitarists? I imagine something focused on cataloging all notable guitarists with their own articles, including things like:

  • Equipment used
  • Techniques and innovations noted
  • Tunings used
  • Roles in various musical groups
  • Endorsements

What do you think? Aguerriero (talk) 14:24, 1 June 2006 (UTC)Reply

Would you mind signing your name to the project's proposal listing here? Thanks! Aguerriero (talk) 15:06, 5 June 2006 (UTC)Reply

WikiProject Disambiguation Talk Request

edit

This is a form message being sent to all WikiProject Disambiguation participants. I recently left a proposed banner idea on the WikiProject Disambiguation talk page and I would appreciate any input you could provide. Before it can be approved or denied, I would prefer a lot of feedback from multiple participants in the project. So if you have the time please join in the discussion to help improve the WikiProject. Keep up the good work in link repair and thanks for your time. Nehrams2020 22:38, 9 October 2006 (UTC)Reply

Hi Andrew

edit

I noticed the post (belatedly) on the Mark Knopfler page. I wanted to work on his page, but thought his popularity would bring more editors, and instead I've been slowly working on the Derek Trucks and Cat Stevens articles, and adding info boxes and photos to pages that lack them. My userpage has a list of musicians' biographies that I'd like to see expanded. This would be one, but I'm afraid it would be massive. Cat Stevens/Yusuf Islam (and his controversies) have worn me out because of his lengthy career. What are you currently editing? Perhaps I can help. --Leahtwosaints (talk) 10:45, 23 September 2009 (UTC)Reply

Unreferenced BLPs

edit

Hello Andrew Spinner! Thank you for your contributions. I am a bot alerting you that 1 of the articles that you created is tagged as an Unreferenced Biography of a Living Person. The biographies of living persons policy requires that all personal or potentially controversial information be sourced. In addition, to ensure verifiability, all biographies should be based on reliable sources. If you were to bring this article up to standards, it would greatly help us with the current 389 article backlog. Once the article is adequately referenced, please remove the {{unreferencedBLP}} tag. Here is the article:

  1. Alan Clark (keyboardist) - Find sources: Google (books · news · scholar · free images · WP refs· FENS · JSTOR · TWL

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited The Adventures of Tintin (film), you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Antagonists (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Glass (John Illsley album)

edit

Hello, and thanks for creating this article. It's been tagged for notability for 5 years now. Could you please look it over and see if you think it can be shown to meet WP:NALBUMS? Best wishes, Boleyn (talk) 21:36, 6 February 2013 (UTC)Reply

I have decided to put on a mini-contest within the November 2013 monthly disambiguation contest, on Saturday, November 23 (UTC). I will personally give a $20 Amazon.com gift card to the disambiguator who fixes the most links on that server-day (see the project page for details on scoring points). Since we are not geared up to do an automated count for that day, at 00:00, 23 November 2013 (UTC) (which is 7:00 PM on November 22, EST), I'll take a screenshot of the project page leaderboard. I will presume that anyone who is not already listed on the leaderboard has precisely nine edits. At 01:00, 24 November 2013 (UTC) (8:00 PM on November 23, EST), I'll take a screenshot of the leaderboard at that time (the extra hour is to give the board time to update), and I will determine from that who our winner is. I will credit links fixed by turning a WP:DABCONCEPT page into an article, but you'll have to let me know me that you did so. Here's to a fun contest. Note that according to the Daily Disambig, we currently have under 256,000 disambiguation links to be fixed. If everyone in the disambiguation link fixers category were to fix 500 links, we would have them all done - so aim high! Cheers! bd2412 T 01:42, 18 November 2013 (UTC)Reply

ArbCom elections are now open!

edit

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. Proposed deletion of Glass (John Illsley album)

edit

The article Glass (John Illsley album) has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

No references provided, no assertion of notability at all.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion.
