- English Wikipedia is running a bot to add authority control templates to many articles that are filled completely from Wikidata. Italian Wikipedia is doing so as well.

What may not be clear here is that everybody involved so far is usually involved with WP:National Register of Historic Places (but we don't want to limit it to WP:NRHP folks). - The new version of MediaWiki has been on test wikis and MediaWiki.org since May 13. It will be on non-Wikipedia wikis from May 19. It will be on all Wikipedias from May 20 (calendar).
- References are now always in the right order. Also, the reference list now only shows references used on the page. [1]
- You can no longer create an account with a colon ':' in it. If you already have one, it still works. [2]
- The toolbar in VisualEditor now looks different. It is easier to see the icons. [3]
- You won't be able to use e-mail lists for a few hours on Tuesday. [4] [5]
- UploadWizard now shows better matches when you add a category to your file. [6]
- A test about VisualEditor will start on the English Wikipedia on Thursday. [7]

British death records -- can you help?
Hi, Andrew. Ironholds recommended you as possibly being able to assist in tracking down the British/English death records of two Olympic and Empire Games swimmers from the 1930s. They were husband and wife and possibly living in Gloucestershire when they died in 1991 and 1998. Greatr detail is provided on Ironholds' talk page: User talk:Ironholds#Kick the bucket (?). Specifically looking for exact dates of death -- can you help? FYI, this could be a prelude to a wider project -- I'm working my way through 216 Canadian Olympic swimmers now, but next month I'm tackling the 260 British Olympic swimmers, and I'm sure the ability to fill in the blanks for some of these old-timers will be handy. - Good morning, Andrew. Got another Olympic mystery: Florence Barker, British swimmer and silver medallist at the 1924 Paris Olympics. Got a name and a birth year (1908), nothing else. No exact birth date, no birth place, no full name, no married name, no date or place of death. Any data you can find would be greatly appreciated. Dirtlawyer1 (talk) 11:13, 18 May 2015 (UTC)
- Tricky, this one. Common name so the records won't be much help. Your best bet might be to trawl through the British Newspaper Archive (WP:TWL had some accounts available, so someone might be able to do lookups) in say 1924-34 looking for a story about her getting married - I'm guessing a former Olympic medallist would be a minor local celebrity and they would cover her getting married, if briefly, and mention her background. - Wikimedia Hackathon 2015 in Lyon from 23-25 May. Some of the activities and outcomes:
- Wikidata descriptions can be soon be edited in the Wikipedia iOS app.
- A early preview of the official SPARQL endpoint for Wikidata has been created to query Wikidata. Remember that it is not stable and still beta. A short introduction to SPARQL can be found in Lucie's slides.
- If you are not familiar with SPARQL yet, a tool has been created by Tpt and Bene* to generate SPARQL queries from natural language questions.
- To do SPARQL queries from the command line, a command line tool was crafted by Marius.
- The special page to query for badges is within reach.
- A feedback session on the architecture of Wikibase was held.
- We got a cool presentation by Maxime about inventaire.io.
- We figured out the next steps to make Wikidata more mobile friendly.

- Many wikis were slow for a few hours on Wednesday due to a code error. Sometimes the pages did not load at all and showed an error. [12]
- Some tools in Labs were broken on Wednesday and Thursday. [13]
- Edit tags added by the software were broken on all wikis from May 23 to May 28. [14] [15]
