Speedy deletion nomination of AMITH V PURUSHOTHAMAN

edit

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on AMITH V PURUSHOTHAMAN requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person or group of people, but it does not credibly indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. 331dot (talk) 11:13, 25 September 2015 (UTC)Reply

Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. While we appreciate that you enjoy using Wikipedia, please note that Wikipedia is an encyclopedia and not a social network. Wikipedia is not a place to socialize or do things that are not directly related to improving the encyclopedia, as you did at AMITH V PURUSHOTHAMAN. Off-topic material may be deleted at any time. We're sorry if this message has discouraged you from editing here, but the ultimate goal of this website is to build an encyclopedia (please see What Wikipedia is not for further details). Thank you. 331dot (talk) 11:14, 25 September 2015 (UTC)Reply

Please do not remove speedy deletion notices from pages you have created yourself, as you did with AMITH V PURUSHOTHAMAN. If you believe the page should not be deleted, you may contest the deletion by clicking on the button that says: Contest this speedy deletion, which appears inside the speedy deletion notice. This will allow you to make your case on the article's talk page. Administrators will consider your reasoning before deciding what to do with the article. Proposed deletion of Sreedeep ck alavil

edit

The article Sreedeep ck alavil has been proposed for deletion because it appears to have no references. Under Wikipedia policy, this biography of a living person will be deleted after seven days unless it has at least one reference to a reliable source that directly supports material in the article.

If you created the article, please don't be offended. Instead, consider improving the article. For help on inserting references, see Referencing for beginners, or ask at the help desk. Once you have provided at least one reliable source, you may remove the {{prod blp/dated}} tag. Please do not remove the tag unless the article is sourced. If you cannot provide such a source within seven days, the article may be deleted, but you can request that it be undeleted when you are ready to add one. A tag has been placed on Sreedeep ck alavil, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. You have been blocked from editing for a period of 31 hours for persistently making disruptive edits. Once the block has expired, you are welcome to make useful contributions. If you think there are good reasons why you should be unblocked, you may request an unblock by first reading the guide to appealing blocks, then adding the following text to the bottom of your talk page: {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}.  Tokyogirl79 (。◕‿◕。) 10:39, 22 March 2017 (UTC)Reply
  • I'm blocking you because you have repeatedly re-created an article that did not meet notability guidelines on Wikipedia and because you repeatedly tried to remove the speedy deletion template from the article in an attempt to prevent deletion. You've been warned about this repeatedly in the past, as far back as 2015. Removing the speedy deletion template is not the proper way to contest that form of deletion and it is seen as disruptive editing, which is what mostly led to your block.
As far as creating articles goes, Alavil does not appear to pass notability guidelines. The article mentioned that he was in Google's Hall of Fame, but a look here shows that this is a listing of people who have reported bugs to Google. The list is 72 pages long and is not something that would be seen as notability giving on Wikipedia. The same thing goes for this. Another link was to his Facebook page, which cannot give notability on Wikipedia. Another link was a dead link. Just existing as a professional is not something that would give notability on Wikipedia - you need to show things like newspaper articles about him and the like. If this were the only problem then I wouldn't have given you a short block necessarily, but it was the repeated removal of speedy deletion tags that did it. You might mean well, but Alavil just doesn't pass notability guidelines at this point in time. Tokyogirl79 (。◕‿◕。) 10:47, 22 March 2017 (UTC)Reply

File permission problem with File:Sreedeep ck alavil.jpg

edit

Thanks for uploading File:Sreedeep ck alavil.jpg. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file has agreed to release it under the given license.

If you are the copyright holder for this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either

  • make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
  • Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here. If you take this step, add {{OTRS pending}} to the file description page to prevent premature deletion.

If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org.

If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:File copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:File copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described in section F11 of the criteria for speedy deletion. You may wish to read Wikipedia's image use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Please don't create any more Wikipedia pages about yourself. (Anyone can create GitHub or Twitter accounts. Adding them to a Wikipedia page simply shows you have internet access.) If you do this again, your WP:BLOCK may well be indefinite. This doesn't mean it will be forever. But it does mean it will be until until you agree to stop writing about yourself.--Shirt58 (talk) 12:02, 31 March 2017 (UTC)Reply

Sockpuppet investigation

edit

Hi. An editor has opened an investigation into sockpuppetry by you. Sockpuppetry is the use of more than one Wikipedia account in a manner that contravenes community policy. The investigation is being held at Wikipedia:Sockpuppet investigations/Amithvpurushothaman, where the editor who opened the investigation has presented their evidence. Please make sure you make yourself familiar with the guide to responding to investigations, and then feel free to offer your own evidence or to submit comments that you wish to be considered by the Wikipedia administrator who decides the result of the investigation. If you have been using multiple accounts (in a manner contrary to Wikipedia policy), please go to the investigation page and verify that now. Leniency is usually shown to those who promise not to do so again, or who did so unwittingly, but the abuse of multiple accounts is taken very seriously by the Wikipedia community.
