Vandal proof how to?

Excuse me, how do I use vandal proof . Do I need to learn C++ or HTML codeing or something like that. I want to use vandal proof because I dont want anying "idoits" trying to "vandalize" my page.Rio de oro (talk) —Preceding comment was added at 00:23, 18 January 2008 (UTC)Reply
Nope, you don't need to learn any coding except wikicode. The program has convenient buttons for everything. Though you might have some trouble with the RSS feed not updating, it should pretty much work "out of the box" once you get approved. Tuvok[T@lk/Improve] 01:47, 18 January 2008 (UTC)Reply

Would like to create "Red county" to balance out the Blue county I already created. Trying to create led to the Admistrator's noticeboard. Question about anti-vandalism tools

Hi AmiDaniel!

I am an admin of a small gaming wikia. We don't really have a serious vandalism problem (we only had 3 such instances in the past week), but given the small number of editors, it's much easier for such cases to go unnoticed. That's why I was taking a look at various anti-vandalism tools.

I realized that in addition to fighting vandalism, they may present an excellent way to simply monitor changes to the wiki. So that I know when someone got confused with out complicated templates, or created an interesting page, or made an interesting comment, etc.

Among the current anti-vandalism tools, would you say any might actually serve this dual purpose?

And do you know any tools that would work on Wikia? (I believe your tool only works on wikipedia.)

Thank you,

Mmoroz (talk) 02:53, 5 May 2008 (UTC)Reply

Changes to "Arctic Haze" article

Hi AmiDaniel,

Regarding your note to me warning against possible vandalism, I must say that the reason for the removal of the paragraph in question is purely helpful in nature since the paragraph in question does not pertain in any way to the topic of the main article, and appeared to be added as an opportunistic afterthought. Discussion on the topic found in the removed paragraph might be included in an article about Global Warming, not Arctic Haze. I hope you agree.
