- Because the more questionable the motivations (or faulty the logic,) the more reason participants have to hide them from recoverable scrutiny. IRC-based decision making denies targets the ability to respond before everyone has made up his/her mind, and provides a place to trash the reputation of established contributors without them having any idea what's going on until it's too late. Of course, there are good reasons to user IRC, but the longer you hang around, the more you'll see just how abused this is. Yet I can recall only one situation in which anyone was held to account, and then only sort of.Proabivouac 23:36, 21 October 2007 (UTC)

If I read you right, I think you and I are on the same page. If Miltopia's banned, so should MONGO, and if not MONGO, then not Miltopia. I posted suport of THAT idea on the page. You didn't actually expect something would be done, did you? We can't expect arbitrators who acknowledge there's a problem to accept a case that would examine that problem, can we? - Not only that, but people on both sides, including MONGO himself, think the case is necessary. Arbitrator discretion of acceptance is supposed to be so that people can't bring spurious, unneded cases. SSP TTN edit
The courtesy blanking was done to reduce the emotional distress that this page is apparently causing. The protection is temporary and in place to also help reduce the distress from this page. No immediate edits should be needed on that page, as it is already closed. The blanking is simply a new revision, with all of the information safely stored in the revision table in case anyone really wants to read it again. As per the MFD, if User talk:TTN wants this unblanked, then I support that, they seem to have gotten on with the business of writing the encyclopedia, can't the rest of us? — xaosflux Talk 06:57, 21 December 2007 (UTC)

Thank you for your participation in my RfA. It was definitely a dramatic debate that landed on WP:100, but ultimately was deemed a successful declaration of consensus, and I am now an admin. :) I definitely paid close attention to everything that was said in the debate, and, where possible, I will try to incorporate the (constructive) criticism towards being a better administrator. I'm going to take it slow for now -- I'm working my way through the Wikipedia:New admin school, carefully double-checking the relevant policies, and will gradually phase into the use of the new tools. My main goals are to help out with various backlogs, but I also fully intend to keep on writing articles, as there are a few more that I definitely want to get to WP:FA status. Speedy deletion of Template:Hiderefs edit
