Well Deserved Barnstar

This barnstar is for your amazing work protecting wikipedia against the evil vandals. Cheers! SJP wishes you a happy Veterans Day 13:13, 7 November 2007 (UTC)
Thanks:) You have done better work here than I though. Up until this month I was just a vandal fighter, and you are a vandal fighter and article writer. Vandal fighting is very important, but actually adding content is more important and harder. Both is even better than doing just one. Have a nice day:)--SJP wishes you a happy Veterans Day 13:21, 7 November 2007 (UTC)

A proposed deletion template has been added to the article Anil Mukim, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but this article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice explains why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may contest the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page. Also, please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. If you endorse deletion of the article, and you are the only person who has made substantial edits to the page, please add {{db-author}} to the top of the page. Satellite

Hi. Were you on wiki leave? Have not heard from you for some time. Will take a look at the article.thanksDineshkannambadi 18:21, 14 November 2007 (UTC)

Hi Aksi,
Hope you are doing fine. Its been a long time.

Article looks good. Some of the things I wanted to bring into your attention are:

  • Article has much room to grow, if you are considering for Featured status. As of this moment's version, it is less than 18kb.
  • See if there is any scope for new sections that would enhance the comprehensiveness of the subject coverage.
  • "Technical Details" section can easily be made more comprehensive, as you seem to have more information available.
  • "End of SITE" is too short to become a section of its own. Either consider merging it with another section, or see if you can enhance this section with more details.
  • Last but not the least, some more images would add much value to the article.

Thats for now. Will let you know more later, if any. Thanks - KNM Talk 18:40, 14 November 2007 (UTC)

AfD nomination of Anil Mukim

Anil Mukim, an article you created, has been nominated for deletion. We appreciate your contributions. However, an editor does not feel that Anil Mukim satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion and has explained why in the nomination space (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and the Wikipedia deletion policy). Your opinions on the matter are welcome; please participate in the discussion by adding your comments at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Anil Mukim and please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~). You are free to edit the content of Anil Mukim during the discussion but should not remove the articles for deletion template from the top of the article; such removal will not end the deletion discussion. Thank you. Dhartung | Talk 08:18, 15 November 2007 (UTC)

Exam over?

So, exam is over, right? And bang you are with the SITE FAC. --Dwaipayan (talk) 15:14, 16 November 2007 (UTC)

No one behaves erratic without reason. The apparent ownership of the article by Fowler, and, more importantly, his irrefutable source providing, may become irritating at times. However, I thought it is time to say on the face. I tried to be as non-harsh as possible. Sarvagnya is a great editor, and Dinesh, no words can describe his immense contribution. Similar credential of others. So why? There must have been some cause. There must have been neglect of South India in the past (I do not remember though).
But at present, I do not see any glaring bias. So, I thought to talk there. And you see, the piled staffs came out. That's better. Now on, it will be easier to coordinate. Also, Fowler, despite his uncomparable contributions, needs to be somewhat more restrained. the problem here is the perceived notion factor. We have to get rid of this perceived notion about others.--Dwaipayan (talk) 20:35, 16 November 2007 (UTC)

SITE

Hi Aksi,
Although it is not a mandatory requirement, it could have been more beneficial for the article and the FAC, had the article gone through peer review process. Just a thought. - KNM Talk 15:28, 16 November 2007 (UTC)

It needs a light copyedit to iron out choppy prose and redundant text. User:Tony1/How to satisfy Criterion 1a should help you removing redundant prose. Also, full stops after mm, vs etc are passé. Convert Bombay to Mumbai =Nichalp «Talk»= 02:16, 17 November 2007 (UTC)

Satellite Instructional Television Experiment

Of course I remember you (although the memory fails more often than not lately :-) I ran through and did some WP:MOS adjustments, but be sure to check my edit summaries, since more of the same are needed. Footnote counting and requests for a specific density of citation are not grounded in policy, but you can forestall criticism by simply sticking a tag on any hard data. Hard data really should be cited, and I think that should resolve the issue. Good luck ! SandyGeorgia (Talk) 07:07, 28 November 2007 (UTC)

More SITE references

Hi Aksi, If you need more references, JSTOR has a few articles. At least one of them is all about SITE, and the planning that went into it. Here's that one:

  • Some Experiences in Preparing for a Satellite Television Experiment for Rural India [and Discussion]
Y. Pal; H. Bloom; S. Harris
Proceedings of the Royal Society of London. Series A, Mathematical and Physical Sciences, Vol. 345, No. 1643, A Discussion on the Introduction of Satellites into Education Systems. (Oct. 7, 1975), pp. 437-447.[2]

These mention SITE briefly, and may be worth referencing:

  • Mobilizing Technology for Developing Countries
Charles Weiss, Jr.
Science, New Series, Vol. 203, No. 4385. (Mar. 16, 1979), pp. 1083-1089.[3]
