Apache Giraph

edit

Hello Adityajoshi5,

It seems to me that an article you worked on, Apache Giraph, may be copied from http://incubator.apache.org/giraph/. It's entirely possible that I made a mistake, but I wanted to let you know because Wikipedia is strict about copying from other sites.

It's important that you edit the article and rewrite it in your own words, unless you're absolutely certain nothing in it is copied. If you're not sure how to fix the problem or have any questions, there are people at the help desk who are happy to assist you.

Thank you for helping build a free encyclopedia! MadmanBot (talk) 21:13, 26 November 2012 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion nomination of Apache Giraph

edit

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Apache Giraph requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article or image appears to be a clear copyright infringement. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

If the external website or image belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text or image — which means allowing other people to modify it — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. If you are not the owner of the external website or image but have permission from that owner, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission. You might want to look at Wikipedia's policies and guidelines for more details, or ask a question here.

If you think that the page was nominated in error, contest the nomination by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion" in the speedy deletion tag. Doing so will take you to the talk page where you can explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but do not hesitate to add information that is consistent with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. sumone10154(talk) 21:16, 26 November 2012 (UTC)Reply

Second round

edit

OK - you managed a quick rewrite - good. Now, you've got to address the other problems. On Wikipedia, things have to be referenced to WP:RS reliable independent sources to prove notability under WP:GNG our criteria for notability. I think that's the best one to point you at. I've taken off the copyvio speedy delete tags, but added less urgent tags for notability not being shown, being unreferenced (the company site doesn't count), and being uncategorised. Don't worry about categories. That tag will attract the people who know and enjoy categories. (I only know when they're not there...) When I said 'less urgent', that doesn't mean take three weeks holiday. If you're not sure if references pass RS, ask. Most of us admins and the other regulars are willing to give opinions and advice. There's some grumps, but try someone else if you find one. Over to you... Peridon (talk) 21:45, 26 November 2012 (UTC)Reply

Proposed deletion of Apache Giraph

edit

Hello, Adityajoshi5. I wanted to let you know that I’m proposing an article that you started, Apache Giraph, for deletion because I don't think it meets our criteria for inclusion. If you don't want the article deleted:

  1. edit the page
  2. remove the text that looks like this: {{proposed deletion/dated...}}
  3. save the page

Also, be sure to explain why you think the article should be kept in your edit summary or on the article's talk page. If you don't do so, it may be deleted later anyway.

You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions. Thanks, Accedietalk to me 23:28, 5 January 2013 (UTC)Reply

Apache Giraph is back

edit

Hi Adityajoshi5, I undid the deletion of Apache Giraph and added some references so it won't get deleted this time. If you feel like contributing more to it please do. I'm sorry your first wikipedia page was deleted. --Diaa abdelmoneim (talk) 12:07, 8 February 2014 (UTC)Reply
