The Fame Monster

Are you saying the fame Monster is not an album of Lady Gaga ?. Where does it say that it's not considered an album ? Gaga's website confirms it as an album. so does gagapedia. What is this " Consensus " you mention about ? Care to explain ? So you're saying that TFM is not an album just because it has new songs not released on The Fame ?. An EP is defined by length. See Talk:The Fame Monster#Studio album vs. EP for the discussion. Gagapedia is not a reliable source. Please take part in the discussion, but for now, consensus has it that TFM is an EP. Adabow (talk · contribs) 10:06, 8 October 2010 (UTC)

But what people are trying to say is that just because she didn't release those songs on The Fame and decided to release a new album by the name of TFM doesn't mean it's an EP. It is irrelevant whether the songs are new or not. Songs on most studio albums and EPs are new. The discussion is based on size. It is being argued whether it is a full-length album or an EP, which is defined on playing time. Adabow (talk · contribs) 10:34, 8 October 2010 (UTC)

Reading your edit summaries, I think you have a misunderstanding of what an EP is. An EP is not a repackage of an album (like a deluxe edition), but an EP is quite similar to a studio album, just shorter. Adabow (talk · contribs) 10:39, 8 October 2010 (UTC)

(talk page stalker) Yes, that is what an EP is, and that is why we are now referring to The Fame Monster as one. We didn't do that when the album was first released because some editors were confused about Gaga calling the album her sophomore effort and decided that it should be called a studio album, despite very few reliable sources calling it one. Band Together concert

Hi Adabow, I hope things are well for you. We've been to the Band Together concert today and as requested have taken quite a lot of photos. You might have seen on TV that it was a rather big affair and there was no way of getting close to the stages. So all the photos that I've got are of the big video screens. I've uploaded a sample to Commons so that you can see for yourself; the pictures are somewhat pixelated. What I've got is from Opshop onwards – I assume that you have the list of bands at hand, but I can also write it down for you. In addition, there's Jason Gunn, Simon Barnett and Paul Ellis. Well done! With 100,000 people, I'm not surprises it was difficult to get some good shots. I don't see anything wrong with the quality of image - especially seeing as some musicians have no image at all at the moment. My only concern is for copyright; some cameraman filmed the action which you photographed. Would s/he not own the copyright, then? Adabow (talk · contribs) 09:18, 23 October 2010 (UTC)

OrphanReferenceFixer: Help on reversion

Hi there! I check pages listed in Category:Pages with incorrect ref formatting to try to fix reference errors. Recently, you reverted my fix to Opinion polling for the New Zealand general election, 2008.

If you did this because the references should be removed from the article, you have misunderstood the situation. Most likely, the article originally contained both <ref name="foo">...</ref> and one or more <ref name="foo"/> referring to it. Someone then removed the <ref name="foo">...</ref> but left the <ref name="foo"/>, which results in a in the article. I replaced one of the remaining <ref name="foo"/> with a copy of the <ref name="foo">...</ref>; I did not re-insert the reference to where it was deleted, I just replaced one of the remaining instances. What you need to do to fix it is to make sure you remove all instances of the named reference so as to not leave any .

If you reverted because I made an actual mistake, please be sure to also correct any reference errors in the page so I won't come back and make the same mistake again. Also, please post an error report at User talk:AnomieBOT so my operator can fix me! If the error is so urgent that I need to be stopped, also post a message at User:AnomieBOT/shutoff/OrphanReferenceFixer. Thanks! I notice that you highlight it as just a song rather than a single from Here I Stand Per discussions here with a little clarification made here, it was decided that songs the US that go for radio adds are considered full-fledged singles as labels only send songs that are intended to be singles to radio, CD singles are basically extinct in the US, and after a album is released, a single cannot be re-released for download (ex. Usher's own "There Goes My Baby" was only sent to urban airplay).

Yes, I admit it is VERY MUCH confusing loL! But surely, a single does not have a cover sometimes in the case of something like Slow Dance (song), I would give some more examples but it's very late and I can't think lol! But anyway the thing with promo singles are they are not given the single treatment (which is usually a download/Cd single and a radio add date). However after an album is relesed, radio add date are usually the only thing to go by (in the US that is). Just basically remember that promo singles are usually those that are released to iTunes as "Countdown to...... [album name]" or they are soundtrack singles that haven't had radio adds. I found out a better explanation. While "Singles" promote the album and the single itself, "Promo songs/singles" are only set out to promote the album, such as "The Countdown to [......] on iTunes" and if it is a soundtrack single, to promote that movie. Candyo32 09:18, 14 November 2010 (UTC)

Why you reverted my edit, but just for clarity purpose, I have sent a mail to RIANZ regarding the certification, asking whether TF and TFM are certified together, or separately. RE:Papers

Well I considered it a single because it was always intended to be on RvR, it got a radio add date, and was for digital download. Multiple reasons for it to be conisdred a single than to not. A promo single is usually to promote a film or to promote an album on iTunes as a "Countdown to...." thing. I myself did not move it to regular singles on the template or discog because I know the obsessive Usher stans are going to go crazy and dispute it. Candyo32 14:59, 26 November 2010 (UTC)

Haha, I've listened to most songs. I might get it, but from what I can tell most of the songs are mostly midtempo and less of her over-the-topness. & Thanks!! Alot of information was there, I just had to clean it up and add more background. And considering the song was lacking in alot of live performances and the music video and alot of things, it was easy. Another thing, not anytime soon but sometime in the future would you want to collaborate on Usher discography? I've been aiming to do it for sometime but haven't. And I believe his discog is too comprehensive for one person to do. A while back a user has been attempting and attempting to get it FL-ed but no offense, it hasn't been done justice. What'dya think? Hmmm, interesting to think about. Yes, before album release, but labels would generally only send songs to radio that were singles. Otherwise it would just be a random song garnering airplay. Theoretically speaking, hearing a song on the radio would want you to buy the song,not go out an buy an album, like a promo single on iTunes would entice you and build anticipation for an album. Now realistically speaking, you think of "Hot Tottie" surely the press considered it the second single and it was released to radio pre-album and no single cover nor video. Yes, and very much so! As was "Upgrade U." Here, the point of the promo single is to promote the album. I don't understand how a digital EP of a single song is to benefit the album, rather than promo for the single itself. I really appreciate you putting this effort forth to understand the US point of view, because most users pushing forth this never-ending "This is not a single" battle don't even live in the United States and fail to realize the US market, but have this attitude that they know everything by reading Billboard. I see I'm loosing the battle over at "Why Don't You Love Me" as these people living outside the US are trying to keep it a promo single, so I guess it'll just be a promo if they want to call it that. But why would an freaking EP full of remixes be released just to promote an album? That seems like to stimulate interest for a SINGLE. The way you are going now, getting HIS to GT shouldn't be hard!! I was hoping RvR soon but seems like he's still rolling out singles and has hinted at another EP like Versus. I also noticed about the Confessions articles. They really need a touch-up. Users like that also abandoned the articles from Beyonce's B'Day and Dangerously In Love. But as I look back, music articles on here and GA standards have vastly changed (for the better) since that time. With the exception of the Confessions album article itself, which is pretty good, most of the other articles in the series don't even really have intricate details to compliment the magnum opus' that they are. Congrats!! & I know right!!!! That's how all the Mariah articles are being able to be GA-ed now. That's why when I have time I am going to use webcitation.org to archive as much as I can. And I didn't realize that about the Fame, that makes since! But I HATE "More." "DJ" grew on me, but I can tell this won't and I really hope that it is not released over here. I love Usher's music, but I don't know if we will ever see Confessions again. But that doesn't mean coming close won't happen because Here I Stand and Raymond v.
