December 2014 edit

Hello, I'm Bonadea. I wanted to let you know that I removed one or more external links you added to the page Childbirth, because they seemed to be inappropriate for an encyclopedia. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page, or take a look at our guidelines about links. Thank you. bonadea contributions talk 12:45, 21 December 2014 (UTC)Reply

Please refrain from making unconstructive edits to Wikipedia, as you did at Childbirth. Your edits appear to constitute vandalism and have been automatically reverted.

  • If you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox. Note that human editors do monitor recent changes to Wikipedia articles, and administrators have the ability to block users from editing if they repeatedly engage in vandalism.
  • ClueBot NG makes very few mistakes, but it does happen. If you believe the change you made should not have been considered as unconstructive, please read about it, report it here, remove this warning from your talk page, and then make the edit again.
  • If you need help, please see our help pages, and if you can't find what you are looking for there, please feel free to place {{Help me}} on your talk page and someone will drop by to help.

Please do not add inappropriate external links to Wikipedia, as you did to Men's role in childbirth. Wikipedia is not a collection of links, nor should it be used for advertising or promotion. Inappropriate links include, but are not limited to, links to personal websites, links to websites with which you are affiliated (whether as a link in article text, or a citation in an article), and links that attract visitors to a website or promote a product. See the external links guideline and spam guideline for further explanations. Because Wikipedia uses the nofollow attribute value, its external links are disregarded by most search engines. If you feel the link should be added to the page, please discuss it on the associated talk page rather than re-adding it.
Your edit here to Men's role in childbirth was reverted by an automated bot that attempts to remove links which are discouraged per our external links guideline. The external link(s) you added or changed (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V0OZb5Smrek) is/are on my list of links to remove and probably shouldn't be included in Wikipedia. If the external link you inserted or changed was to a media file (e.g. a sound or video file) on an external server, then note that linking to such files may be subject to Wikipedia's copyright policy, as well as other parts of our external links guideline. If the information you linked to is indeed in violation of copyright, then such information should not be linked to. Please consider using our upload facility to upload a suitable media file, or consider linking to the original.
If you were trying to insert an external link that does comply with our policies and guidelines, then please accept my creator's apologies and feel free to undo the bot's revert. However, if the link does not comply with our policies and guidelines, but your edit included other, constructive, changes to the article, feel free to make those changes again without re-adding the link. Please read Wikipedia's external links guideline for more information, and consult my list of frequently-reverted sites. For more information about me, see my FAQ page. Thanks! --XLinkBot (talk) 14:38, 21 December 2014 (UTC)Reply

Please stop adding inappropriate external links to Wikipedia, as you did to Childbirth. It is considered spamming and Wikipedia is not a vehicle for advertising or promotion. Because Wikipedia uses nofollow tags, additions of links to Wikipedia will not alter search engine rankings. If you continue spamming, you may be blocked from editing Wikipedia.

December 2014 edit

You may be blocked from editing without further warning the next time you insert a spam link, as you did at Childbirth. Persistent spammers may have their websites blacklisted, preventing anyone from linking to them from all Wikimedia sites as well as potentially being penalized by search engines. --I am k6ka Talk to me! You have been blocked temporarily from editing for abuse of editing privileges. Once the block has expired, you are welcome to make useful contributions. If you think there are good reasons why you should be unblocked, you may appeal this block by adding the following text below this notice: {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}. However, you should read the guide to appealing blocks first.

Abrahamvermeulen26, I just saw the message you left on my user talk page, but since I see that you have been blocked in the meantime, I'll respond here. What you need to do if you want to add links that other editors have removed is not to simply add them again, but go to the article's talk page (linked at the top of every Wikipedia article) and start a discussion there. However, Youtube links are almost never considered appropriate to add to articles. Please read this guideline and this information about YouTube links. In addition, a list of links to Youtube videos without any explanation of what the videos contain or what their relevance is to the article will always be removed. The people who read the article are not going to see the comment you made in the edit summary.

But again, when your block is lifted, please go to the talk page(s) of the article(s) in question and start a discussion about the links there - and don't add the links to the article unless you have a consensus in favour of adding them. Thank you. --bonadea contributions talk 09:52, 24 December 2014 (UTC)Reply

Thank you for your message! I understand that your purpose is to inform, and I appreciate that you started a discussion about the links instead of re-adding them. However, a user talk page (mine, or yours) is not the best place for such a discussion - as I mentioned above, the talk page of the article you want to add the links to is where you need to go. Talk:Childbirth is such a page. You don't need the permission of any one individual editor in order to add links, but when the links are contested, you have to get consensus in favour of adding them again. This is a good description of the proceedure we are expected to follow. Three different editors and two bots have reverted your link additions, which means that they are in fact contested. Another problem is the fact that we have no idea what is behind those video links, since there is no description or explanation of them. If you do bring the matter up for discussion on the article talk page, you'll need to tell people what the videos show. Regards, and Vrolijk Kerstfeest! --bonadea contributions talk 16:44, 25 December 2014 (UTC)Reply
