Malaysian Population Clock

edit

Please read the full editor's entry for Malaysia on the List of countries by population page. The Malaysian population clock at http://www.statistics.gov.my uses incorrect coding & resets population the first of every month. It used to reset population to 27,452,091. I contacted them, but no reply. New page there now resets to about 27,718,800 first of each month. The pop clock there is worthless -- There is NO reason to think any of the figures are valid for anything. -- JimWae (talk) 19:34, 11 October 2008 (UTC)Reply

Hi! It seems you recently created an unreferenced biography of a living person: Antony Selvanayagam. The community has decided that all new biographies of living persons must contain a reliable source that supports at least one statement made about the person in the article as per our verifiability policy. Please add references as soon as possible. Thanks! --LaraBot (talk) 00:10, 27 July 2010 (UTC)Reply

The article Antony Selvanayagam has been proposed for deletion because under Wikipedia policy, all biographies of living persons created after March 18, 2010, must have at least one source that directly supports material in the article.

If you created the article, please don't take offense. Instead, consider improving the article. Please do not remove the tag unless the article is sourced. If you cannot provide such a source within ten days, the article may be deleted, but you can request that it be undeleted when you are ready to add one. Padang Kota Lama

edit

This is an automated message from CorenSearchBot. I have performed a web search with the contents of Padang Kota Lama, and it appears to include material copied directly from http://www.penang-traveltips.com/padang-kota-lama.htm.

It is possible that the bot is confused and found similarity where none actually exists. If that is the case, you can remove the tag from the article. The article will be reviewed to determine if there are any copyright issues.

If substantial content is duplicated and it is not public domain or available under a compatible license, it will be deleted. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material. You may use such publications as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. See our copyright policy for further details. Speedy deletion nomination of Padang Kota Lama

edit

A tag has been placed on Padang Kota Lama requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be a clear copyright infringement. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words.

If the external website belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text — which means allowing other people to modify it — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. If you are not the owner of the external website but have permission from that owner, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission. You might want to look at Wikipedia's policies and guidelines for more details, or ask a question here.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag - if no such tag exists then the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate and adding a hangon tag is unnecessary), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines.   Thorncrag  06:48, 26 August 2010 (UTC)Reply

I see that you have been creating articles about individual churches. Not every church satisfies WP:ORG, the applicable notability standard. Some time ago, there was a (failed) notability guide for religious congregations and their buildings called WP:CONG. It can still provide some ideas for things to look for that are useful in establishing the notability of a given church. Wikipedians are wary of someone establishing a page to advertise their organization. Wikipedia is [[WP:NOT}not a directory of every organization in the world. A particular church might be notable if some notable doctrine were established there which had a major influence on religion, if some important religious figure was the pastor there for a long time, if the building was architecturally important. There needs to be reliable independent sources with significant coverage of the church (not just its own publications, or website, or directory listing, or newspaper coverage of routine events). Catholic-Hierarchy.org

edit

Hello. I noticed that you have edited a number of articles on Catholicism. A discussion is taking place as to whether the website Catholic-Hierarchy.org is a reliable source that can be utilized on Wikipedia or whether all references and information derived from it should be deleted. This topic is currently being discussed at the Reliable Sources Noticeboard [1]. As the website's removal as a reference will affect several thousand Wikipedia articles, I believe that the broadest range of opinions should be obtained before action is taken. Please contribute if interested.Patapsco913 (talk) 22:07, 3 February 2016 (UTC)Reply
