Please do not add promotional material to Wikipedia, as you did to User talk:98.97.116.80. While objective prose about beliefs, organisations, people, products or services is acceptable, Wikipedia is not a vehicle for soapboxing, advertising or promotion. Thank you. Lemonaka (talk) 18:22, 31 December 2022 (UTC)Reply

I did not understand what you meant by promotional material to Wikipedia. 98.97.116.80 (talk) 01:27, 1 January 2023 (UTC)Reply
IP editor: edit of yours added links to a business website. It should never have been posted on your user talk page, and so you were warned not to add such off-topic content again. We see such links as promotion - so please read this page to learn what we mean: WP:PROMOTION. Wikipedia is not a playground for bored people to mess around on, so we warn editors who place the wrong type of content that breaches our rules, or try to use Wikipedia to link to their favourite website for no valid reason. My advice is not to repeat that. Regards, Nick Moyes (talk) 22:59, 2 January 2023 (UTC)Reply

The answer to this vague question of yours can be given in one of two ways.:
  • You must never, ever ask questions about an article by actually editing that article. We view this as vandalism, and repeat offenders who disrupt in this way will be blocked from further editing. You must always use the article's talk page to ask serious questions.
  • The answer as to why Khan Academy is, itself, worthy of a page here (whilst others do not) can be found in our policy on whether or not any given topic is deemed WP:NOTABLE. In this case the subject meets our Notability criteria for businesses. Others might also meet them; it may be simply that nobody has bothered to do so as yet. Or it may simply not be notable under our definition.
In future, please try not to ask questions in a way that is disruptive, or are not clear enough for people to understand. We aren't all mind-readers, so clarity in any questions will help us answer you, and ensure that someone asking confusing questions isn't simply trolling us. (We block people who do the latter, as it wastes time for everyone.) So, simply watching and listening to what other editors do can be a very good way of learning without the need to ask trivial questions like this one. But note that I have actually answered it there for you. Regards, Nick Moyes (talk) 22:53, 2 January 2023 (UTC)Reply
