Climate One is a branch of The Commonwealth Club of California based in San Francisco, California. Founded in 2007 by Greg Dalton, it is a leadership dialogue focused on energy, environment and the economy. Climate One at The Commonwealth Club of California is a thriving leadership dialogue on energy, the environment and the economy. It convenes top thinkers and doers from business, government, academia and advocacy groups to advance the discussion about a clean energy future.[1]


History

Vice President of The Commonwealth Club of California, Greg Dalton had worked at the Club in the public forum sector for 6 years, holding discussions with a variety of people including former CEO of AT&T Ed Whitacre, Grateful Dead drummer Mickey Hart, and 9/11 Commissioners Slade Gorton and Richard Ben-Veniste, prior to starting Climate One.

While traveling on a global warming symposium hosted by The Commonwealth Club of California with academic experts and journalists around the Arctic Circle, Dalton decided to form Climate One, a branch separate from the Club that focused on sustainability measures. [1]
