History and popularity
editThe Glorious Star was invented on Friday March 27, 2009 by Doug Mercer, Joe Eungard, and bartender Star at Shark's Cove, a sports bar in Manhattan Beach, CA on a "Beach Day" which is much like a Snow Day except with beautiful weather that prevents one from going to work. The name of the shot was created when the 2 men tried the shot and immediately said, "That's GLORIOUS!" Of course nobody wants to order a Glorious so the Star was added to give bartender Star her due. Thus was the Glorious Star born.
Preparation and variations
editA Glorious Star is typically made as a shooter but may also be good as a mixed drink. As a shooter, the ingredients are mixed with ice in a cocktail shaker then strained and poured into a shot glass. As a mixed drink the ingredients are generally poured over ice in a small cocktail glass, then stirred.
