Catalog Numbers

edit

Celestianpower, I've reverted your edits on Fuhai no Koibito, Jiaban de Tianshi, and Happy Past Days. Here in full is my comment on catalog numbers from the talk page of Fuhai no Koibito (the first one I reverted):

"I've put back the catalog number because I find it to be by far the easiest way to search for information about albums whose titles are not in a native Roman script. It's a useful piece of information to have and, being one line, doesn't bloat the article. I have catalog numbers on all my album articles."

I've written probably 17 or 18 album articles, and I always include the catalog number as it's the surest way to get useful results when searching Google. If you have strong reservations about including this piece of information in album articles, I'd be glad to discuss it with you, but I think it's definitely good to have and takes up very little room. If there were a field for it in the albumbox template, that's where I'd stick it, but as things are right above the track list seems to be the best spot. Coach Z Ale 10:28, 11 October 2005 (UTC)

I read and mostly agree with your comment on my talk page. I've added a comment to the Template:Album_infobox page here. If the catalog number can be adopted into the infobox, that would be best, but if it doesn't I'll probably incorporate it manually in my articles.
Unless there's a long debate about adopting the field into the infoxbox itself, I'll try to take care of my album articles in a week's time or so. Coach Z Ale 07:26, 12 October 2005 (UTC)
What's been suggested is a release details table which contains the catalog number and which goes under the track list. I've already adopted this on Fuhai no Koibito and Happy Past Days, and I'll be taking care of the older albums today. I'll probably hit the multi-edition and copy-control albums tonight or tomorrow night since I don't have them here with me. Coach Z Ale 10:15, 18 October 2005 (UTC)

Notorious Notations

edit

I deleted it for having little information about a book that will be released next year. It was borderline, maybe should have gone to AFD instead, and I might have sent it there if I weren't plowing through hundreds of CSDs. If he wants to recreate it he can. I won't speedy it, but I might send it to AFD. If you want I'll undelete it, but there was little enough content that it's not terribly worthwhile. -R. fiend 17:22, 11 October 2005 (UTC)

I think the main problem was that I didn't put in a stub and I didn't hook in the ASUE template. Had those been in place before he noticed the page, it probably would have stayed. But for now, I think having it in the wikicity is going to be good enough until somebody finds more info about it. Thanks for caring and taking the time to help out a newbie.--JCoug 13:41, 13 October 2005 (UTC)

Casey

edit

Haven't you ever heard of Casey? She got an episode all to herself in Pokémon Chronicles. In fact, there is a picture of her with Misty in that article. Sonic Mew | talk to me 20:45, 12 October 2005 (UTC)

It's about name origin, though. I don't know how 4Kids chose Ash's name, but it is too much of a coincidence for Casey's name. Sonic Mew | talk to me 20:59, 12 October 2005 (UTC)

Thanks for your support on my RfA!

Thrupp's War

edit

Hi, I noticed that you reverted my edit to Thrupp & Brimscombe without comment. Does that mean Thrupp's War is legitimate? Most of the other edits by User:Mirad were demonstrably false, and since I couldn't find any other reference to "Thrupp's War" on google, I assumed it was bogus too. But judging from your user page, you're definitely the expert on the area. :)

By the way, may I respectfully remind you that Wikipedia:Administrators says "Do not use one-click rollback on edits that are not simple vandalism; please use manual rollback with an appropriate edit summary.". Thanks. -- Wmahan. 19:48, 14 October 2005 (UTC)

Advisory Committee

Here's a cookie for being an amazing (and attractive) poll worker! Just make sure you run a few miles on the Treadmill, or you won't be so attractive for the next election. ^_^

Ah, my good friend CP! Thank you for both your vote of confidence and your congratulatory message on my talk page!

Also, I must express my gratitude for your work assisting the Election Polls. Have this. :P Acetic'Acid 20:34, 14 October 2005 (UTC)

Thank you for your vote of confidence in the Esperanza elections. I look forward to helping Esperanza and Wikipedia progress. Flcelloguy | A note? | Desk | WS 21:48, 14 October 2005 (UTC)

Hello there, I just wanted to thank you for your vote of confidence. Even though I didn't make, it's not the end of the world and I really appreciate the trust you have given to me. Thanks again and I wish you all the best... Gryffindor 21:57, 14 October 2005 (UTC)

Thanks

Hey, Celestianpower, thanks for your vote in Esperanza's Advisory Committee Elections. While I didn't get enough votes to be part of it, I know that the four who are can do the job much better than I could have. But I don't take your show of trust in me lightly, I really appreciate it, and tell me whenever you think I can be useful for something. Now, I see that you're soon going to become an admin, so I congratulate you already! Titoxd(?!?) 23:00, 14 October 2005 (UTC)

No problem, I'm quite flattered just by the inclusion on your user page. Hope your RfA continues to go well though - it ends today? 59/0/0 - impressive! Intended to post this before you posted on my talk page, but endless interruptions this end. Alf melmac 12:19, 15 October 2005 (UTC)

I've just created Edward Naylor, so yes you can help by expanding the music list! Alf melmac 20:32, 15 October 2005 (UTC)

Esperanza Spam

edit

Hello Esperanzians! A few announcements.

The Advisory Committee election results are in. In tranch A are Acetic Acid and Flcelloguy. In tranch B are Ryan Norton and Bratsche.

My other annoouncement is that our founder, JCarriker, has founded Esperanza's sister project, Wikipediology. I have written two essays here (my name is Matt Binder). My essays are under Teenage Wikipedians and Anon Editors.

On behalf of myself and Jay Carriker and the other wikipediologists, I would appreciate it if you were to join.

Cheers Esperanza! Redwolf24 (talkHow's my driving?) 23:29, 15 October 2005 (UTC)

Congratulations!

Congratulations! It's my pleasure to let you know that, consensus being reached, you are now an administrator. You should read the relevant policies and other pages linked to from the administrators' reading list before carrying out tasks like deletion, protection, banning users, and editing protected pages such as the Main Page. Most of what you do is easily reversible by other sysops, apart from page history merges and image deletion, so please be especially careful with those. You might find the new administrators' how-to guide helpful. Cheers! -- Cecropia | explains it all ® 23:41, 15 October 2005 (UTC)

Congrats of course :) Also, you voted at my bureaucratic nom when it was a subpage, but I had to wipe those votes. My bureaucratic nomination is up right now, so you'll have to re-vote. Redwolf24 (talkHow's my driving?) 03:40, 16 October 2005 (UTC)

Yeah, that was a pretty good showing of support - I'm happy for you too! :-) I'm sure you'll be a fine admin. --HappyCamper 13:37, 16 October 2005 (UTC)

Congratulations and a hint from another admin

edit

Congratulations on becoming an admin! I am pleased to see you have wasted no time in trying out your new ability to delete things, however as an admin I have found it useful to include a link to the afd debate relating to the article in the edit summary when I delete it. That way if there's a question about the deletion afterwards (say, on votes for undeletion the related discussion is far easier to locate. Best of luck with it all, anyway! -- Francs2000   13:59, 16 October 2005 (UTC)

You haven't done anything wrong - not all admins do it. It's just something I have found useful personally. -- Francs2000   14:06, 16 October 2005 (UTC)

Congrats, Celestianpower!

I'm glad to see that you passed RfA! I see that you have already put your adminpowers™ to good use. You actually beat me to block that one Undergarments vandal today. Manchester

edit

Hi. You asked us to let you know when we reached agreement on the Manchester/City of Manchester issue. I think this has now been resolved.

Jolly well done!

edit

Even though adminship is supposedly "no big deal", congrats are of course in order! I stumbled across the Snicket Wiki the other day and registered as a user. Haven't gotten round to exploring it much yet (and have a shedload of work booked in for the coming week as well as a certain new book to read, so not sure how much chance I'll get...) but will do so soon.

Well done once again! CLW 19:19, 16 October 2005 (UTC)

An old discussion

edit

I was archiving my discussion page, and I noticed we never really did finish our (admittedly somewhat contentious) discussion over Fuchsia City and merging the Pokémon cities. Did you want to reply, or did you consider the matter dropped? I'd like to have your input; I'm still somewhat undecided, myself. - A Man In Black (conspire | past ops) 22:29, 16 October 2005 (UTC)
