Use of images for the line names

edit

Fleet Lists and Vesna Wylde, using images for text is bad for accessbility, and not really necessary given the simplicity of the line images. I have changed them to use simple div containers instead, which allows for uniform text resizing. For reference, here are the images and the equivalent html versions:

Ahh okay. That definitely seems a lot nicer. Props to you, since I'd probably never had figured out you could do that! Thanks for the heads up! Maybe it'll be a good idea to create similar graphics for the NSW TrainLink regional network as well! PhilipTerryGraham ⡭ ₪ ·o' ⍦ ࿂ 13:52, 19 May 2015 (UTC)Reply
Vesna Wylde I notice that they have been done for the NSW TrainLink regional network but should they not have different colours as shown here?Fleet Lists (talk) 09:57, 21 May 2015 (UTC)Reply
As far as I'm aware, that is the only place that I've seen them have different colors; those four 11x16 pixel images on this particular webpage. Everywhere else, on the timetables, website, route diagrams online and on indicator boards at Central station, and on NSW TrainLink regional network maps, they're the same shade of orange. I can only assume those four images were carryover elements from the old CountryLink website and haven't been replaced. PhilipTerryGraham ⡭ ₪ ·o' ⍦ ࿂ 10:33, 21 May 2015 (UTC)Reply
The printed timetables also use these different colours in their respective headings.Fleet Lists (talk) 11:20, 21 May 2015 (UTC)Reply
I have yet to see a printed NSW TrainLink regional timetable use any other color than that shade of orange either. All the logos are orange and accompanied by a square image representing the region the service travels through. Even the page you linked shows an image of the covers of the printed timetables. – Now that {{Sydney Trains platform box}} has been used in articles for Sydney Ferries wharves (and has been for a while now) and will certainly be used in articles for light rail stops once substantial articles are eventually written up. This name is specifically chosen to be harmonious with other templates in Category:Transport for New South Wales templates, where this template's sub-category, Category:Sydney Trains platform templates is proposed to be moved to if it and its category get renamed. – PhilipTerryGraham (talk · contribs · count) 18:07, 28 November 2017 (UTC) --Relisting.
