The games currently listed in this template are notably US-centric. That's not surprising (and they'd be UK-centric if I'd written it) but I think the balance could do with being evened up a bit. Obviously we want to avoid having everyone's favourite game added to the template; avoiding the appearance of that is why I haven't gone ahead and changed it. I'd appreciate some discussion here on the matter so that the list of games can be altered/extended with some consensus.

In particular, I'd suggest that Arrogance and Bunnies are sufficiently common (and widespread) UK games, certainly the equal of 21. Obviously I'm not qualified to judge on American games, but if we need to save space could the various "Pong"s be reduced to a single link? PeteVerdon 17:07, 15 February 2006 (UTC)Reply

Also, the Yard of ale probably qualifies as a UK entrant to the "binge drinking" section. A good distinction, by the way, between very different types of games. PeteVerdon 17:17, 15 February 2006 (UTC)Reply

I apprecaite the UK getting involved on this. Jolly good! I was hoping that drinking culture isnt limited to american twenty-somethings :) . I am particularly intrested in if theres pong like games in the UK, and specifically if Beer Pong is played in the UK. I have converged some of the items to give you guys some room to add additional items. Cheers! --Larsinio 17:59, 15 February 2006 (UTC)Reply

Template layout edit

The current vertical template is horrible. The template should be horizontal, so that it doesn't interfere with the corresponding article's text or images. I'll be working the next couple of days to redesign it so that the template can be added to the bottom of articles. --Brownings (talk) 11:36, 21 December 2007 (UTC)Reply

Well, that didn't take long. Hope everyone enjoys the changes. --Brownings (talk) 12:51, 21 December 2007 (UTC)Reply

Entries that are not games edit

This template is strictly for games, not for races, not for simple events without rules.Curb Chain (talk) 22:58, 23 August 2013 (UTC)Reply

This template is for drinking games. The term 'drinking game' has a broader scope than the naive union of 'drinking' and 'game'. For example, on this very talk page there's reference to the Yard of ale as a drinking game. Your cull was also indiscriminate, as the vast majority of the entries you deleted do in fact have rules and goals. Oreo Priest talk 03:33, 24 August 2013 (UTC)Reply
You might be able to safely add back Ice luge as well. "Curb Chain" (CC) has an unfortunate, sorted history with that article that can be seen on its talk page. In general, you can pretty much ignore CC's "concerns" over these kind of issues. Guy1890 (talk) 08:28, 30 August 2013 (UTC)Reply
Good point, I've restored it. You might find it interesting to note that CC has recently been blocked from editing all list articles for aggressive and consensus-violating deletionism. See User_talk:Curb_Chain#Topic_ban. Oreo Priest talk 15:52, 30 August 2013 (UTC)Reply
Yea, I'm the one that initiated that discussion at AN/I. Happy editing... Guy1890 (talk) 20:24, 30 August 2013 (UTC)Reply
