Disclosure of potential conflict of interest edit

Working for the festival in question, I have a potential conflict of interest. I've tried to follow all the suggestions for this kind of case – starting the article as a sandbox version and putting up notices at WikiProject Science and Talk:Science festival asking for somebody else to create the mainspace article if they felt it was appropriate and, once the article did go up, adding only sourced statements. If you feel that I've strayed from NPOV anywhere, please leave me a note about it! Markus Poessel (talk) 19:22, 17 July 2008 (UTC)Reply

Update? edit

For a featured article, this hasn't been updated in far too long. The article is written as though this years festival has not happened yet. 97.126.63.121 (talk) 05:28, 30 August 2009 (UTC)Reply

Featured article review edit

I do not think this articles meets the FA criteria because it is severely at odds with 1b, 2b and 2c. The main problem that is this article is an example of how not to summarize many sources that are cited.

  • There is an over dependence on Bundle cites when the sources bundled could just be single citations for each sentence.
    • An overly long paragraph in "Festival events" is an example of this. In addition to being overly-long, there are so many specific events discussed, yet citations for each of them are all bundled in one single cite at the end.
    • The last citation that's in the Reception section at the end is the biggest indicator of this problem out of this article's many. We're only given that a certain amount of recognized sources discussed these events, but none of the specific coverage of those events in those sources are discussed anywhere in the article, resulting in both a major 2c issue as well as a significant 1b problem.
  • Additionally, the citations don't even bundle the cites in a way that's comfortable for the reader, as they don't bullet list what each source is, which Ref 21 does but for some reason the others don't. The date format is also not consistent, constantly switching between numbered dates and those that spell out the month in word form.
  • 2b failure as the lead fails to illustrate all essential topics, giving disproportionate WP:Weight to a few parts of the event.
  • Additionally, what is Ref 13?
