Boxers edit
Willie was one of those special boxers winning many in a row, over 50 twice, without deafeat. It is generally assumed that if you weigh less, you do not absorb so much punishmlent, you live to see many more good fights. Even some heavyweights start with 25 wins or more like Bob Baker (who was screwed by IBC and Arthur Wirtz, never given a shot at the tile, controversial losses to Hurricane Jackson). Floyd Patterson, wanted to fight Rocky but not before 1957, some claim January 6 1956 Rocky was to fight floyd patterson or at least had 2 exhibitions, 2.5 minutes in florida new york or california)he was moved from the light heavyweight division to heavyweight with fifth rating on May 2 1956. Floyd is still considered youngest lineal heavyweight champion ever. Floyd Patterson was also a gentleman of boxing. He said a good champion should behave properly inside and outside of the ring. Willie came close... How many boxers like these we have today? Old boxers could fight (usually) longer and had more stamina.
Needs correction edit
Famechon was French, but the site shows a US flag. This should be corrected. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 174.44.186.42 (talk) 19:22, 5 April 2017 (UTC)
WHo is going around making Connecticut accomplishments "New England" ones? edit
CT is CT, not New England! New England is no state and some parts of CT are in the NYC area and have nothing at all to do with MA or RI. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 76.28.91.23 (talk) 00:17, 6 November 2007 (UTC)
Reflexes, knees, then friends quote edit
I'm looking for the source of a quote. The gist of it is The first thing a boxer loses are his reflexes, next go his knees, and then his friends.
Someone[1] suggested it was Willie Pep. Anyone got any indications that it was indeed him? Gronky (talk) 18:32, 28 April 2010 (UTC)
