I see you've added the George Swede article. I can add the ISBN for Wind in the Long Grass and Haiku World if you'd like. I think you have a great article going already. I've found some sites that mis-quote things, so (IMO) the best idea would be to find someone who knew Bill personally, for the most accurate info., then find the quote. I had never met Bill, but from what I've heard Penny is very nice. You could speak to her to get some info. I've asked around for a photo, but she might be the best one for that as well. You also might want to include where his work has been anthologized: Haiku Moment ed. by Bruce Ross and The Haiku Anthology (all three volumes, I believe) ed. by Cor van den Heuvel), maybe in Cor's baseball haiku, though I don't have that one. He's been quoted in articles and might be in Jane's, Lee's, and/or Bruce's books. And a couple more of his best (most widely cited) haiku might be neat.

• I just skimmed through the piece for Bill. The Haiku Handbook is no longer with McGraw Hill, but with Kodansha International now, for some years. Look it up on amazon. Seasons and World are out of print with Kodansha, but The Haiku Seasons is due out soon in a 2nd edition from Stonebridge Press. Again, look on the web for it, perhaps at their site. I haven't had time to check.
• You can use any photo you want. Maybe the one of him reading at the NJ poetry center would be fine. Just try to contact Anthony. (Is that on google-photos if I search?) And of course you can use "holding the water" (no caps, I think) and any other poem of his you like. Just tell me first.

Founder member of HSA or not?

Three times I've reverted edits removing the assertion that WJH was a founding member of HSA from the opening para. The reference in Swede's cited article in Simply Haiku is unequivocal. Is there any reference to contradict this? If there is, let's compare and see where we get to; otherwise I'll tighten up the text in the article making it more dogmatic less tentative. In the book *A Haiku Path*, about the history of the Haiku Society of America, the founders of the society are listed as Harold G. Henderson and Leroy Kanterman. Bill Higginson was among 23 people present at the formation meeting, and is identified in the book as a "charter member." Similarly, other Haiku Society of America publications clearly list Henderson and Kanterman as the "founders." Nowhere has Higginson been listed by the HSA as a founder. George Swede's article, an obituary in Simply Haiku, was in error, and he has now had it corrected to say that Higginson was a charter member of the HSA, not a founder. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 131.107.0.81 (talk) 19:18, 7 June 2010 (UTC)

Well I'm glad that's cleared up. Lucky Swede's article was online and could be corrected, rather than in print - in which case we might have been wrangling about this for years!
