This article needs much work:

• König didn't discover them
• It wasn't the British Museum
• Determined -> speculated
• Mesopotamia is a region, not a civilisation
• Using Mesopotamia as a civ suggests Sumer or Akkad to the reader, which is only about three to four thousand years too early for these artifacts
• Article as it stands says nothing about König's life, it just replicates info about the artifacts (mostly inaccurately)

New article

@Saippuakauppias and Xaiver0510: A new article has just been created based on a translation of the German Wikipedia article. This in turn was based on an old translation of the English Wikipedia page while it still suffered from most of the problems described above. For that reason I have restored the old history and reverted to the last good version of the deleted page. Some of these errors have misguidedly also been inserted in the Baghdad battery page in an attempt to de-orphan this page, so that also needs fixing. SpinningSpark 11:42, 11 May 2019 (UTC)

@Spinningspark: I attempted to de-orphan and wrote over at Baghdad battery that Wilhelm discovered the battery based on the original article in good faith. I read some sources that the discovery is disputed so I will leave both articles as it is. To note is that Wilhelm König might need a disambiguation as apparently there is an actor of the same name as well (which is most likely not the same person) which was why I reverted the move and attempt to delete the redirect. --Xaiver0510 (talk) 05:05, 13 May 2019 (UTC)
