Nazi signs on the patent edit

Are those nazi signs on the patent real or someone put them in? (That only could happen in the US) —Preceding unsigned comment added by 92.200.83.16 (talk) 15:20, 11 April 2010 (UTC)Reply

The swastika has been used for centuries by some native American tribes, and at the time the patent was granted it had not yet been identified by the Nazi party. See Swastika#Native_American_traditions. Yours sincerely, GeorgeLouis (talk) 04:35, 7 December 2010 (UTC)Reply

Uh, but he applied for the patent in 1935, and the symbol was adopted by the Naza party in 1920. Curious.69.141.155.249 (talk) 04:00, 17 July 2011 (UTC)Reply

No one outside Germany would have heard of the Nazi party in 1920. 1933 would have been a turning point as it coincides with the Reichstag Fire Decree and their first grasp at power. By 1941, maybe even a few Americans could have heard leaks or rumours that a war was afoot. Who knows. 2001:5C0:1000:A:0:0:0:C5 (talk) 00:54, 25 June 2012 (UTC)Reply
In response to the query as to whether the Swastika on the patent is original or added, one need only pull up the actual patent (the source for the image which was downloaded from the official USPTO document) to verify that it was not added. Also, the use of the Swastika as an element of native american imagery was widespread and was a design element on Arizona highway signs up until 1942 when it was removed. --Quartermaster (talk) 11:55, 12 August 2020 (UTC)Reply

All Wigwams in one article edit

This should probably be expanded out to an entry covering all of the Wigwam villages (3 currently existing). Feel free (if I don't get around to doing it) to create separate sections for each Village. This initial start for Village #6 should eventually be just a section of a larger, more comprehensive article.

The external links at the bottom are pretty good starting places for getting information on the other two - the original one in Kentucky, and the recently restored one in California. -- Quartermaster 15:56, 21 September 2006 (UTC)Reply

reorg edit

Updated the page to accommodate all 7 wigwam villages and added the facts I know about them (unfortunately not that much). Also added some trivia.

I'm not sure hot the NRHS stuff should be handled as it applies to only one of the 7 locations. Equally having more than one coordinate in a single page creates some trouble.

Perhaps it would be better to have one page for the overview and 7 more for each village (but that might be overkill just as well.

Hey, register and sign in for kudos! This is an excellent improvement (and, yes, more improvement and tweaking is still needed). I think the single article breaking out the individual Motels is the cleanest arrangement. - Quartermaster 01:01, 24 August 2007 (UTC)Reply

Cleanup and editing edit

Just go through it and make it read as good as possible. Sincerely, GeorgeLouis (talk) 04:31, 7 December 2010 (UTC)Reply

Inaccuracies and contradictions edit

There's a lot wrong with this article. Anyone besides me interested in sprucing it up, bringing it into compliance with policy/guidelines, get new photos, and rid it of the inaccuracies and contradictions? -- ψλ 19:21, 13 August 2017 (UTC)Reply
